Bobbi Brown Corrector Review and Swatches

January 23, 2011

For very dark circles and extra coverage, makeup artist Bobbi Brown’s secret are Correctors.

Bobbi Brown Corrector

Designed to be used under your regular concealers, the Bobbi Brown Corrector comes in a range of 4 Peach shades and 8 Bisque shades. The Peach shades have an orange undertone to counteract purplish/brownish tones while the Bisque shades are pink-based to counteract bluish/greenish tones.

I normally use peachy correctors for my NC30 skin but since the artists at Bobbi Brown all recommended the Bisque shades, I ended up with two of them. Light to Medium Bisque is slightly lighter and pinker while Peach has more yellow undertones and is a tinge darker than my skin.

The Correctors have a smooth, creamy texture that applies and blends easily. They can, however, creep into fine lines so moisturizing your undereye area is a MUST before you use them.

Coverage is excellent and you can tell a difference right away. While both correctors do a great job, Light to Medium Bisque seems to brighten up my undereye area more while Peach covers the darkness better.

On my regular days when I do not do a full face, I like to either use the Peach on its own, or the Light to Medium Bisque topped with a very thin layer of Peach. When I do need to look flawless, I use the Correctors with a thin layer of Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer on top. With both products, my undereye circles and even bags get completely wiped out which is AWESOME!

Another reason why I adore these Correctors is their compact size. The sleek little black pot is perfect to pop in any purse and there is also a mirror on the inside so you can apply this on the go.

Bobbi Brown Correctors definitely get the job done and are reasonably priced. Thumbs up!

Hi just wondering if you set the concealer with powder? Thanks!

    • Reply Phyllis January 24, 2011 at 10:02 pm

Yes I do. I use Bobbi’s Sheer Finish Loose Powder.

wow the coverage looks amazing! but your dark under eye circles weren’t that bad to begin with 😛 i wonder if mine will work haha…

Yes the coverage is truly amazing and I was only wearing the corrector in the picture too! If you pair the corrector with the concealer, I’m sure your circles will be gone.

The coverage looks really good, and so does the texture. Things tend to creep into my fine lines super easily though, which is why I had to give up Time Balm grr. Maybe I should try this out 🙂

I’m going to try these. Have you reviewed the foundations too? Also this is minor but your link to Nordstroms is spelled wrong.

I have only tried Bobbi’s Stick Foundation but that was a whileeeeeeeee back and I didn’t like it much.

p.s. Thanks for pointing out the typo! That’s what you get when you look at the computer for 10+ hours a day *lol*

Wait, so you put the peach ON TOP of the bisque? Thanks for this review!

    • Reply Phyllis January 31, 2011 at 9:58 pm

Yup that’s what I do but you can also put the Peach underneath. I just use both so it looks more natural.

How would you compare this with MAC Studio Fix concealers? I’m having a dilemma with both products since the Missha concealer that I’m using is finishing and the Korean brand has come up with a new and DRIER formula that I don’t agree with. Thanks!

I definitely like the BB correctors a LOT more than MAC Studio Fix. The MAC was my first concealer and I found it dry and hard to blend.

Have you tried the new MAC pro longwear concealer? Would be interested to see how that rates against this.

Fantastic thanks! I’ve been using the correcteur for years myself & every so often I wonder whether I should change to something else 😀

these look wonderful, but if you want a cheaper version of yellow corrector, you should try cover girl and olay’s simply ageless concealer in color corrector (ironically). it’s very hydrating and good coverage and doesn’t settle in fine lines around the eyes!

Do you like Bobbi Brown’s correctors or the Amazing Cosmetics Concealer better for under-eye coverage? I’ve tried both, but I can’t find myself to like BB’s Correctors even though everyone loves them. Your before/after pictures look amazing though and I’m tempted to try it again!

    • Reply Phyllis February 9, 2011 at 11:44 pm

The BB concealers are more buildable but the Amazing Cosmetics Concealer looks more natural. What don’t you like about the BB correctors?

  • Reply Justine April 19, 2011 at 10:41 pm

Oh this confuses me now, I talked to an artist in the Bobbi Brown website and she told me that I should use the Light Bisque corrector since I have purplish undereyes. :/

    • Reply Phyllis April 23, 2011 at 10:03 pm

Hmmm that’s weird because I just chatted with an artist online and she said the Bisque shades are for purplish circles too. I’d recommend hitting up the closest Bobbi Brown counter to test both out just to be sure.

    just love your site!
I’m also a NC30 skin, and i’m using BB corrector in dark peach (my undereye circles are really bad). I was wondering wich BB concealer should i use, i tried with warm beige, but it does’t match my skin perfectly

  • Reply Glittergirl January 15, 2014 at 9:39 am

I went to a Bobbi Brown counter and I was matched up to wrong corrector shade. Honestly it makes me mad! These counter assistants just don’t know about Indian skin tones. Initially I was matched up to dark bisque which is ridiculous because it was way too dark and pink. In the end I matched MYSELF up to the shade Peach which went well with my level 3 foundation in Beige.

I wish these counter assistants would get with the programme and not assume all Asian/Indian skin tones require dark shades of makeup. Their perception of Indian/Asian skin tones is like them still living in Neanderthal times. Any one with Indian skin tones I would recommend you ask for the Peach testers first before they hit you with the Bisque shades.
