With the Spring 2011 Haute Couture Season at a wrap, let’s review some of my favorite beauty looks.
Besides shocking neon lips, we are seeing lots of colors on the eyes this spring. At Alberta Ferretti and Aquilano.Rimondi, washes of soft greens covered the upper and lower lid while a richer, bolder green was used at Oscar de la Renta and Loewe.
With lips drenched in eye-popping neon shades of orange and fuchsia on the runways of Jil Sander, Fendi, Marni, Diane von Furstenberg and more, the bright lip look has been taken to a whole new level this spring.
For the Etro Spring 2011 show, Charlotte Tilbury did a gorgeous “smoked lavender purple that’s universally flattering” on the models for a chic, contemporary seventies vibe.
At the Blumarine Spring 2011 show, Charlotte Tilbury (who was working for MAC) gave models a “modern day Talitha Getty” look that resembles a “luxurious Bohemian girl sailing around the Med, wearing a fabulous leopard print kaftan”.
At the Giles Spring 2011 show during London Fashion Week, MAC makeup artist Miranda Joyce created a “Mick Jagger in performance meets the Seventies Drag Act” look with loads of glitter on the eyes and orange lips.
