Orange lipstick is definitely making a comeback next season! At DKNY Spring/Summer 2014, makeup artist Charlotte Willer working for Maybelline New York compared bold orange lips with a flawless complexion while the Essie team created a sweet look on the nails.
Charlotte evened out models complexion with Dream Lumi Concealer and FIT me! Pressed Powder. She added Dream Bouncy Blush in Hot Tamale with her fingertips directly onto cheeks, for a dewy touch of color.
The eyes were kept minimal with a light layer of Color Tattoo Metal Cream Gel Shadow in Barely Branded on the lid. Brows were groomed and shaped using Master Shape Brow Pencil.
To finish, the lips were coated with a mixture of Color Sensational Vivids Lipstick in Electric Orange and Neon Red and blotted to create a matte, stained finish.
On the nails, a coat of Essie Limo-scene was applied, topped with a coat of Essie Mademoiselle and finished with Essie Good To Go Top Coat.
Hair-wise, Eugene Souleiman, Global Creative Director at Wella Professionals, created a stylish classic look with a low side parting and a ponytail. He started by freshly washed and conditioned hair, using Wella Professionals Enrich Shampoo and Conditioner, to ensure hair is in perfect condition. Then he applied Wella Professionals Velvet Amplifier through the hair and used a soft bristle brush blow dry the hair flat to the head. Next, he used a straightening iron through the hair to create a smooth, polished look and created a low side part while gently brushing the hair flat to the head, spraying the hair with Wella Professionals Stay Essential Finishing Spray. Gently, using a soft bristle brush, he sprayed again with Stay Essential Finishing Spray, pulling the hair over to a low pony tail on the opposite side of the head to the parting, ensuring that all fly always are tamed. Next, he secured the hair in to the low pony tail with elastic, letting the pony tail come forward over the shoulder. Finally, Eugene took a small pump of Wella Professionals Oil Reflections, smoothed on to the palms of his hands, then took a soft brush and gently rubbed this across the palms to pick up the smallest amount of product, and then brushed the pony tail section.
