Inspired by Moctezuma the Aztec emperor along with Avatar’s tribal-eco message, the Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2010 Haute Couture collection is full of colors, huge hats, braids, leaves and even feather. While I can’t picture anyone actually wearing the over-the-top collection, the colorful, tribal makeup is definitely something that I like (and they used my favorite MAC pigments to create this look too!)
Contrary to what you would expect for spring, the look is all about the “strong, erotic phase of Parisian women” at the Givenchy Spring 2010 Haute Couture show. To go with the heavily embellished 70s inspired collection, models’ eyebrows were faded till almost non-existent while a dramatic glittery smoky eye was paired with a bright red lip.
Described as “silver and pastel” by Karl Lagerfeld, the Chanel Spring 2010 Haute Couture collection is one of my favorite couture collections of all time. Not only is the soft silver eye makeup and bright coral lips super gorgeous, the Lady Gaga-esque bow hair adds a sense of sweetness to the equally beautiful collection of suits and dresses.
First we saw it at the Proenza Schouler and Giles Deacon Spring 2010 shows, now it is all over the Alexis Mabille Spring 2010 Haute Couture runway. Are colorful locks here to stay? Do you like the look?
John Galliano is at it with his dramatic flair at the Christian Dior Spring 2010 Haute Couture show. Models strutted the runway with big poofy hair, highly arched brows, matte red lips, heavily winged out black eyeliner and pops of green, purple, blue and pink on the eyelids.
