After the Indian-inspired look for Pre-fall 2012, Chanel wowed us once again with a gorrrrrgeous beauty look at the Resort 2015 show in Dubai. Models were given ultra big hair, glowy skin and pink lips paired with dramatic two-toned eyeliner and a touch of gold in the inner corners. Love the look? White eye makeup makes a comeback this spring on the runway. Bands of graphic white liner contrasted a bare face at Kenzo while Altuzarra presented a combo of matte white eyeshadow and red lips to create refined modernism. At Tibi, eyes were rimmed with a shimmery white cream shadow that extended towards the temple for a cat-eye effect and eyes dazzled in a soft, ethereal glow of white and pink at Alice + Olivia.
With bridal season in full swing, now is the time to drool over some very pretty dresses and catch up on the latest bridal hair and makeup. At Jenny Packham Bridal Spring 2015 Collection, the look was inspired by photographs of 1930s British society photographer, Madame Yevonde. The photographs’ soft tonal colors and hazy, neoclassical ambiance directly influenced the design and palette of the collection and translating into a romantic hair and makeup look that consisted of earthy colors and a voluminous ponytail.
At Gucci Spring/Summer 2014, the look was athletic with a bit of sexy. Makeup artist Pat McGrath intensified models’ eyes with shimmery brown shadow, copper shadow and black-brown mascara with a touch of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream for glossiness. The rest of the face was kept bare with clear balm on the lips and foundation one to two shades darker than models’ complexion blended from apple to temple.
A little bit of 60s with Lady Caroline Blackwood was the idea behind the gorgeous gray shadow, lashes and pink lips at Ruffian Spring/Summer ’14. The look, consisting of a dash of pink and gray shadow (March Mist and Particularly Pretty from MAC Spring/Summer 2014 Forecast Eye Palette) along with a dab of peachy lip color (Trendy Twist from MAC Spring/Summer 2014 Forecast Lip Palette), is not only simple but so wearable for spring! And did I mention that super cool minimalistic crescent manicure in nude and purple?
Looks like Chanel is continuing its color streak from Spring all the way to Fall. At the Chanel A/W 2014 show, models showed off full brows and flawless skin (courtesy of the upcoming The Complexion Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation) paired with a dab of Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Canaille on the cheeks and a silvery eye contrasted with a colorful wing in shades of pink, green, orange and blue. How cool!
