Runway Beauty: Pink Makeup + Velvet Chanel Logo Stickers at Chanel Resort 2013 Show

Marie Antoinette was the inspiration behind the pink makeup and pastel wigs at the Chanel Cruise 2013 Show in Paris this week. To create the “between girly and rebel” look, Chanel Creative Director of Makeup Peter Philips covered models’ eyes, cheeks and lips with a tangy pink and paired it with a dash of beige liner on the inner rims of the eyes, defined brows and clean skin.

But the most interesting part of the look belonged to the little black velvet Chanel logo “beauty marks” that were placed on top of models’ cheekbones. Definitely keep an eye out for them in the upcoming Collection Versailles de Chanel!

Runway Makeup: Bright Neon Lips at Magdalena Veleska MBFWA Spring/Summer 2012/13

Neons have been all over the place this year and at Magdalena Veleska, Napoleon Perdis created skin that is slightly sunburned with a striking acid lip.

“I liken this look to a futuristic Mermaid. She is slightly sunburned, but in this context, it works! Contours are curved and soft, not angular and hard. To get the sun-kissed look, we worked cream textures into the temples and forehead and then added powder to subtly mattify the skin. The brows are strong and polished. The acid yellow lip is a standout. We custom blended China Doll Gel Eyeliner in Alabaster with Loose Eye Dust in Proud Peacock to create the bespoke neon matte shade.” – Napoleon.

To recreate the look, try using OCC Lip Tars and setting with a matching powder shadow for maximum staying power. Would you dare to wear such a look?

Runway Beauty Recap at Spring/Summer 2012/2013 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia

Australian makeup maestro Napoleon Perdis once again created a series of gorgeous beauty looks at Spring/Summer 2012/13 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia.

At Camilla, the look is all about a raw, jet-setting Gypsy with a “raw, earthy smoky eye and the just-bitten lip stain”.

An edgy “revolutionary time traveler” inspired the metallic brows and lips at Ginger and Smart. “Her skin is just stunning, a standout, but I also adore the versatility of this look. Simply blend Off Duty Tinted Moisturizer with Pro-Palette Concealer for that go-to glow. I’ve worked gold accents onto the lips and brows for that metallic edge” said Napoleon.

The look at Talulah was a Californian girl with a modern 60′s twist. This called for dewy skin that is “warm and bronzed with cream textures and a soft flush to the cheek”, along with lashings of mascara and nude lips.

“Polished and fresh” was the idea behind the look at Toni Maticevski. “This is a statement brow with a kick! The focus is a clearly polished arch, graphic and balanced yet still feminine and beautiful. No brushes required here: your greatest tool for this look are your fingertips! Use the warmth of your hands to press product into the skin for a fused effect” said Napoleon.

Finally, at Miss Unkon, Napoleon gave models a messy, feminine look with smudgy gray shadow and winged out liner.

Bridal Beauty at Marchesa Bridal Spring 2013 Runway

With bridal season coming up, take a cue from Talia Shobrook, lead makeup artist for the Marchesa Bridal Spring 2013 runway show, on how to create a look that is whimsical, effervescent and totally wearable.

Face
“Flawless skin with a fresh and dewy finish was the foundation of the look”, said Shobrook. First, she mixed Laura Mercier Mega-Moisturizer Crème SPF 15 with Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance to add a subtle glow to the skin. She then covered under eye circles with Laura Mercier Secret Concealer and covered any spots or redness with Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage. Next, she applied Laura Mercier Silk Crème Foundation to the face. Lastly, she used Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder in the T-zone, for control shine, leaving the rest of the skin dewy and fresh.

Eyes
To highlight the eye and add to the allure that a bride’s sparkling eyes have on her wedding day, Talia mixed Laura Mercier Sateen Eye Colours Stellar and Primrose and applied them on the lid from lashline to the crease. Next, she softly contoured the crease with Laura Mercier Matte Eye Colour in Fresco. Using Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Ballet Pink, she dipped Laura Mercier Fine Point Eye Liner Brush into water and swirled around the Eye Colour to pick up the product, then drew a line across the lashline, with a slight flick at the outer corner. The eyeliner should be thin and bright. On the lower lashline, she used Laura Mercier Flat Eye Liner Brush to apply Laura Mercier Matte Eye Colour in Truffle just at the lashline and blended slightly to soften. Lastly, she finished with a layer of Laura Mercier Long Lash Mascara and another layer of Laura Mercier Full Blown Volume Lash Building Mascara to the lashes in the center of the eye.

Lips and Cheeks
“By using the same product on the eyes and lips, we allow the fresh-faced bride to only have to carry one product for touch-ups. The creamy formula adds a lovely natural flush to the face,” Shobrook concluded.

On the cheeks, Talia applied Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Mango (launching September 2012) to the apples of the cheeks and blended to give a natural flush in the face. The result is a creamy smooth natural cheek color. The look was finished with the same color blended onto the lips as well.

For Salvatore Ferragamo A/W 2012, Tom Pecheux working for MAC Cosmetics created “strict yet feminine office women” with a Russian military vibe.

Face
* Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation – blended over hydrated skin to perfect.
* MAC Pro Invisible Set Powder – swept over skin to set and polish.
* Mauveless Pro Longwear Eye Shadow (available Autumn/Winter 2012) – blended under cheekbones and through temples to contour.

Eyes
* Print Eye Shadow – lightly shaded through the inner eye area from eyelid to brow with a soft brush, then diffused towards the middle of the eye.
* Mauveless Pro Longwear Eye Shadow (available Autumn/Winter 2012) – lightly shaded through the centre and outer eye area, and diffused upwards to the brow, enhancing the natural shape of the eye.
* False Black Mascara – defines the upper lashes.

Lips
* Mineralize Concealer – patted over lips to conceal.
* Mauveless Pro Longwear Eye Shadow (available Autumn/Winter 2012) and MAC Pro Invisible Set Powder – dusted over lips for a sheer, burgundy veil of colour.
