Revlon Spring/Summer 2008 Collection Retro Makeup Looks

July 3, 2008

Not only are these two gorgeous looks from Revlon’s Spring/Summer 2008 collection great for the summer, but they will look good on any skin tone.

Look #1

Eyes

Start by applying a yellow-gold eyeshadow like MAC Gorgeous Gold over the entire eyelid. Next, apply a shimmery pink color like MAC Pink Venus eyeshadow in on your crease, depositing more color on the inner corner. Sweep a turquoise color (try MAC eyeshadow Aquadisiac) on the outer eyelid and extend it outward and past your crease. Line the upper lash line with a black pencil. Apply a pair of false lashes on top and black mascara on bottom lashes. Highlight the area beneath the brow bone and the inner corner with the yellow-gold eyeshadow to finish the look.

Cheeks
Sweep a mauve berry color like NARS Blush in Sin along your cheekbones.

Lips
Pucker up with a metallic coral lipgloss like Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Amber Rose.

What Revlon Used on Janice

Left to Right: Soft on the Eyes Sheer Loose Shadow in Sub-Lime, Make a Sheen Lustrous Shadow in Plum Like it Hot and Creme de la Chrome Liquid Lipcolor in Gilt Complex.

Look #2

Eyes

First, apply a shimmery mauve color (try MAC Pigment in Kitschmas) over the entire eyelid. Darken the outer eyelid with a dark plum color like MAC Eye Kohl in Prunella and wing it past your eye for the perfect 60s look. Draw a thin line along your upper lashes with a black liquid eyeliner. Line 1/4 of the outer corner of your lower eye with the plum color and highlight the inner corner with the mauve shade. Finish with a pair of falsies on top and black mascara on lower lashes.

Cheeks
Apply a baby pink color like MAC Powder Blush in Angel over your apples for a cute, doll look.

Lips
Make those lips shine with a cherry red like MAC Lipglass in Real Desire.

What Revlon Used on Janice

Left to Right: Marble-ous Match Liner/Shadow Duo in Steel-ing Beauty, A Floral Affair Sheer Powder Blush in Pinking of You and Creme de la Chrome Liquid Lipcolor in Berry Flashy.

This was a really informative post. I enjoy the way you formatted the description and provided MAC counters to the Revlon, along with additonal pictures! Please keep this in mind for future posts!

I LOVE the revelon limited edition products!! I’m going to do a vid about them soon:) Great post.

I’m starting a feature on my blog, HomeSpaGoddess.com about all the products beauty blogger can’t live without. Your blog is great and I’d love for you to participate:)

    Just answer this question:

You’re stranded on a desert island where all of your basic needs (food, water, shelter) are taken care of. You are allowed an unlimited supply of only 7 beauty products. What seven products would you choose?

They can be products for hair, face or body. If you want to participate just email me your answers at hsg{at}homespagoddess.com and put “Island Beauty” in the subject line. I’m going to run my “Island Beauty” feature once a week and I’ll email you when you’re featured.

    Thanks!

    That’s an incredibly hot look!
Hey, did you ever try a toner after shaving? Seems like it should work anywhere.

I’m glad you guys liked these looks cos I *love* them!!

Trent, I don’t use a toner after I shave/wax but I do use this homemade Tendskin recipe to prevent/get rid of ingrowns and it REALLY works:

I tried out the second look when I went out yesterday! 🙂
I didn’t use MAC products, just ordinary stuff I found in my makeup drawer in similar colours…it turned out well.

I tried this look and I found it easier to replace the aquadisiac with mac pigment applied with a wet brush. The end result came out beautifully.
