Last night, I attended the MAC Pro Bridal Makeup Class by MAC’s very own Senior Artist John Stapleton. John has been in the industry for 15 years and has worked in Fashion Week, theater, film, concerts and with celebrities including Kim Kardashian and Kelly Osborne. To complement the red Valentino Couture archive dress Anne Hathaway wore at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards last Sunday, makeup artist Kate Lee gave her “a thin black lined eye with a defined socket and a deep rose lip stain”.
For a modern twist on vintage Hollywood glam at the Lela Rose Fall 2011 show , Sarah Lucero for Stila Cosmetics paired bold red lips with soft eyes.
Inspired by Kate Moss when she was still with Johnny Depp, Tom Pecheux created “a very cool girl with glam-rock sophistication” using MAC Cosmetics at the Altuzarra Fall 2011 show.
Finally saw Burlesque on Friday and totally LOVED the hair and makeup on Ali Rose, played by Christina Aguilera! So here are a few breakdowns and face charts of some of my favorite looks by Christina’s makeup artist, Kristofer Buckle.
For Ali’s small-town-girl look, Kristofer used “soft mauves on her lips and a very blushed coral on her cheeks”. He also kept her eyebrows “light and secondary” with Anastasia Perfect Brow Pencil in Ash Blond. Read this to learn how to rock coral blush.
In the latest Revlon Holiday 2010 Fire & Ice Collection, Jessica Biel relived the iconic shot of model Dorian Leigh from 1952 with dark smoky eyes and red lips. Find out how to recreate the look after the jump!
