Red Lips + Bold Brows in Lane Crawford Spring 2012 Pinnacle of Style Campaign

Featuring three gorgeous faces from China, the latest Spring 2012 campaign from Lane Crawford, “The Pinnacle of Style”, shows us the power of bold brows and a red lip.

To dupe the look, start with a flawless base. Fill in the brows with a powder that matches your hair color or go slightly darker for a more dramatic effect. Add a wash of neutral shadow on the eyes and a dab of gloss in the center. Skip mascara. Instead, tightline the upper lashline and and apply a brown shadow on the lower lid for definition. To finish, run a red lip liner around the lips before applying a matte red lipstick with a brush for precision.

My choice of red lipstick? MAC Russian Red and here’s why!

Nothing beats a chic updo with a red lip on the red carpet. See how you can recreate Dianna Agron‘s look at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards!

Makeup
Makeup artist Monika Blunder was inspired by the spring 2012 fashion shows where the makeup was fresh but still very glamorous. Since Dianna’s red Giles dress was so “va va voom,” Monika focused on the lips to be the stand out feature.

Step by Step How-To
Monika kept Dianna’s skin simple and fresh with a bit of L’oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in Light Ivory to give skin a light glow. Since the focus was kept on her lips, only a small amount of L’oréal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in Celestial (Pink) was applied to the apples of cheeks.

The bold red lip stole the show; Monika applied L’oréal Paris Infallible Le Rouge in Bold Bordeaux for lasting shine and pigment.

The eyes were highlighted with a hint of L’oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte with Vaseline applied over it to create added shine. The L’oréal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Black was lightly applied around the rim of the eye and Monika applied several coats of L’oréal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara in Black to complete the look.

Hair
Frederic Fekkai Stylist Adir Abergel went for a simple and chic up-do that compliments the beautiful and intricate texture of the dress.

He began by applying Fekkai COIFF™ Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel on the roots and rough dried the hair with his hands. Next, he braided the hair, applying a small amount of Brilliant Glossing Cream to give it texture and shine. Once the hair was dry, Adir took the braids apart, raked the hair with his hands, and created a deep sweeping part angled towards the back of the head. Adir gathered the hair in the back, creating sections of little twists and ultimately pinning them together. He secured the look with Fekkai COIFF™ Sheer Hold Hairspray.

Before I show you my review and swatches of the super gorgeous NARS Spring 2012 Collection, here is a look I did with some of the products. I really liked how it turned out, especially the blush (❤ Gaiety!) What about you guys?

Not a fan of cutesy Halloween looks? Here’s a “scarier” look inspired by Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas!

Face
Apply a light turquoise color like the Turquoise 000 color from the Make Up For Ever 12 Flash Color Case all over your face, including the eyelids. Contour and highlight with the brown and light beige shadows from the Pixi Holiday 2011 Ultimate Beauty Kit as desired. Using a black pencil liner like MAC Feline Eye Kohl, draw on switches from the forehead down to the cheekbone and by the lips. Go over the lines with a black cream or gel liner like the Black 011 shade from the Make Up For Ever 12 Flash Color Case for a more dramatic effect.

Eye
Fill in the eyebrows with a reddish brown eyeshadow from the Pixi Holiday 2011 Ultimate Beauty Kit. Darken the crease with a dark gray eyeshadow like MAC Knight Divine. Next, apply the Jealousness Waterproof Eyeliner in Smoked Black BK-II along the upper lashline. Curl your eyelashes, apply a coat of black mascara then a set of full lashes like Makeup For Life Lashes in Diva on top. Reapply your liquid eyeliner and make sure to fill in any gaps between your natural lashes and the fake lashes. Rim the lower waterline with MAC Feline Eye Kohl and apply Ardell Babies fake lashes.

Lips
Start by outlining the shape of your lips with MAC Cherry Lip Pencil. Using a lip brush, apply MAC Russian Red Lipstick onto the lips.

Face
Start by evening out your skin with foundation. Add concealer and powder as needed. Sweep a matte baby pink blush from the Pixi Holiday 2011 Ultimate Beauty Kit onto the apples of your cheeks for a dolly look and add a shimmery light beige powder down the nose to highlight. Using a liquid liner like the Jealousness Waterproof Eyeliner in Smoked Black BK-II, carefully draw on a Micky Mouse beauty mark right above your cheekbones.

Eye
Fill in the eyebrows with a dark brown eyeshadow from the Pixi Holiday 2011 Ultimate Beauty Kit. Then, prep the eyelid with NARS Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.
