My Favorite Top 5 MAC Lipsticks

Ever since my lipstick addiction started in 2007, MAC lipsticks have been my go-to for a pretty pout. I love how they come in all sorts of colors and finishes (perfect for experimenting!) and are super affordable at just $14.50. See my top 5 must-have MAC lipsticks from the permanent line after the jump!

#1 Girl About Town
One of my very first bright lipsticks, Girl About Town is a gorgeous bright fuchsia in the Amplified formula. Love the creamy, non-drying texture and the contrasts it adds to my dark hair.

#2 Russian Red
There is a reason why this matte blue-based red is loved by many, including Dita Von Teese and Christina Aguilera. Not only does the classic red adds instant glamour, its cool undertones can also help make your teeth appear whiter.

#3 Creme D’Nude
Thanks to its pink undertones, this “pale muted peach beige” in the Cremesheen formula is great for a no-brainer nude lip without washing me out.

#4 Modesty
The secret behind that my-lips-but-better look in my profile picture? Modesty, a warm neutral with pink undertones in the Cremesheen formula.

#5 Saint Germain
Every girl should own a barbie pink lipstick and Saint Germain is my favorite from MAC’s permanent range. The cool-based “clean pastel pink” color in the Amplified formula goes on super pigmented so all you need is a few dabs to turn heads.

MAC Infinitely Likable Pro Longwear Lipglass Review, Swatches and Pictures

Besides the Pro Longwear Eyeshadows, I also picked up a Pro Longwear Lipglass from the new MAC StyleDriven Collection.

MAC Infinitely Likable Pro Longwear Lipglass
The Pro Longwear Lipglass is a new, permanent addition to MAC’s Lipglass collection. It comes in a long tube that is the same size as Cremesheen Glass and Dazzeglass. But like the latter, it only contains 1.92g/0.06 oz of product. The formula claims to “go on smooth, last for up to six hours, envelops lips with shine and colour and pro-long the hours between re-application.”

The nine gorgeous shades range from your light nude, coral and pink to bright red, hot pink and even a dark purple. I can see most of them working on pretty much anyone and as a sucker for pink, I ended up with Infinitely Likable, a beautiful creamy nude pink that resembles one of my favorite lipstick, MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Creme Cup.

Compared to your regular Lipglass, the Pro Longwear Lipglass has a thicker texture and does not feel too sticky on. It applies really pigmented and creates more of a vinyl instead of glossy effect.

While the flatter sponge-tipped applicator helps to deliver just the right amount of product, the gloss itself can be a little tricky to work with. I tested out different colors at the store and had a hard time getting some of them to show up evenly. I also noticed the gloss to move around whenever I press my lips together, which can be a pain. But it is long-wearing and can stay on a good four-five hours.

Bottom line, love the colors (especially Infinitely Likable!) and the long-lasting wear but the formula could have been better. Below is a swatch of Infinitely Likable:

MAC Seasonally Supreme Sheen Supreme Lipstick Review, Swatches and Photos

Adding to its permanent line of Sheen Supreme Lipstick, MAC Seasonally Supreme brings us 3 repromotes and 9 new shades that are inspired by Asian pop culture. More pics and swatches after the jump!

Similar to MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme, the Sheen Supreme Lipstick comes in a sleek, glossy black tube that is much cooler than the regular MAC lipstick packaging. The lipstick claims to “fuse Lipglass’ high-shine finish with the saturated colour of a Lipstick” and does apply with great ease, superb pigmentation and lots of shine. I personally don’t it to be that moisturizing and it does have the tendency to highlight flakes and creep into fine lines. However, the color stays on a good few hours and the 12 colors are all wearable and simply gorgeous!

• Supremely Confident, the palest out of the bunch, is a creamy light nude and a repromote.
• Sheer Mandarin is a creamy orange with a tinge of yellow, just like mandarin. This is one of the more unique shades in the collection.
• Fashion City is a creamy coral nude pink.
• Bare Again is a creamy neutral beige with just a tinge of pink undertones. It is a repromote.
• Insanely It, a repromote, is a gorgeous creamy bright fuchsia.
• Supreme Style is a frosty nude pink. Compared to Bare Again and Tea Ceremony, this has the most pink undertones.
• Blossom Culture is a frosty soft pink.
• Korean Candy is a loud orange-red, just like kimchi.
• Tea Ceremony is a creamy nude pink with brown undertones. It is the darkest nude in the collection.
• Happy Hibiscus is a frosty light milky pink. The color is gorgeous but too hooch for my NC30 skin. It is also the color worn by the model in the promo picture.
• Royal Azalea is your good old bright medium pink. Must-have for all Barbie pink lovers.
• Asian Flower is a gorgeous creamy medium lavender.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Swatches Part 2

After my first batch of OCC Lip Tar Swatches, I decided to let the artist in me come out and play. Following the basics of color theory, I used your typical primary colors – NSFW (primary red), Yellow Iron Oxide (mustard yellow) and RX (primary cyan blue) – along with Feathered (white), to create my very own shades. To start off, here are swatches of just RX and Yellow Iron Oxide as requested by you guys:

Since OCC Lip Tars are uber opaque as I mentioned in my review, I had to use three times as much of the white to lighten the color to make it more wearable. RX also seemed to stain my lips, skin and even teeth (yikes!) so using a brush for application and an oil-based remover is highly recommended.

To embrace the iconic style of the early 1960’s where everything was big and sexy, Flirt! Cosmetics created Big Flirt Sheer and Shiny Lipgloss, the flirtiest, shiniest and boldest lipgloss yet.

The first thing that caught my eye was the humongous yet cute packaging. With its black cap and mega-tip applicator, the Big Flirt Sheer and Shiny Lipgloss looks like a jumbo, polka-dot version of MAC Tinted Lipglass.

The lipgloss is formulated with jojoba oil to help soften and condition lips and applies smoothly with a sweet, vanilla scent. I personally don’t find it to be that moisturizing on my super dry lips but I do like that it is creamy and does not feel too tacky.

There are 8 wearable colors in both cream and shimmer finishes, including:

• Berry Bombshell – a sheer dark purple
• Bigger Than Rose – a plum with golden shimmer
• Big Pink Sunshine – a golden pink
• Coral-Me Fabulous – a creamy coral
• Big Pink Kisses – a creamy bubblegum pink
• Big Blush – a shimmery medium pink
• Big On Nude – a shimmery pinky peach
• Big On Beige – a shimmery golden beige

The colors all show up semi-sheer with lots of shine just as the name suggests, so you will need to layer a bit to get the color you see in the tube. The gloss also stays on pretty well, even after a drink. Below are swatches of my two favorite shades, Big Pink Kisses and Bigger Than Rose:
