Started in August 1997, the International Make-Up Artist Trade Show is like the show in the makeup industry. Every year, thousands and thousands of make-up artists, vendors, manufacturers and enthusiasts flock to this event to promote products, demonstrate techniques or just to mingle with people in the industry.

The next show will be held at the Business Design Center in London on the 27th & 28th January 2007. Advance tickets range from £30 to £50. For more info, check out http://www.makeupartistshow.net/.

I am definitely getting a two day pass for this! E-mail me or leave a comment if you want to go too =)

Here’s the real deal to the sale of Stila. I used to really like their eyeshadows and palettes – this is *so* sad =(

*****************************************************************

Stila, formerly owned by Estee Lauder, is officially sold to an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners Inc. in April. A new management team, operating under the name Stila Corp., will lead the brand.

Stila is currently being pulled from all counters. The brand will still be carried at Sephora, Sephora.com, select Bloomingdales, Barneys NY, Fred Segal, select Anthropolgie stores, select Bloomingdales and most likely online at Stilacosmetics.com. Sephora will only be carrying 50% of the line. Bloomingdales will carry 100%.

The Pro stores located at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA and Valley Fair in Santa Clara, CA will close in July. They will not get any new stock or new collections. The Pro Store at Beverly Center in Los Angeles, CA will stay open.

There is no information about Stila’s availability outside the US.
