Halloween Makeup Ideas: Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas Makeup Look

Not a fan of cutesy Halloween looks? Here’s a “scarier” look inspired by Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas!

And the original Sally:

* Make Up For Ever 12 Flash Color Case

* MAC Knight Divine Eyeshadow

Face
Apply a light turquoise color like the Turquoise 000 color from the Make Up For Ever 12 Flash Color Case all over your face, including the eyelids. Contour and highlight with the brown and light beige shadows from the Pixi Holiday 2011 Ultimate Beauty Kit as desired. Using a black pencil liner like MAC Feline Eye Kohl, draw on switches from the forehead down to the cheekbone and by the lips. Go over the lines with a black cream or gel liner like the Black 011 shade from the Make Up For Ever 12 Flash Color Case for a more dramatic effect.

Eye
Fill in the eyebrows with a reddish brown eyeshadow from the Pixi Holiday 2011 Ultimate Beauty Kit. Darken the crease with a dark gray eyeshadow like MAC Knight Divine. Next, apply the Jealousness Waterproof Eyeliner in Smoked Black BK-II along the upper lashline. Curl your eyelashes, apply a coat of black mascara then a set of full lashes like Makeup For Life Lashes in Diva on top. Reapply your liquid eyeliner and make sure to fill in any gaps between your natural lashes and the fake lashes. Rim the lower waterline with MAC Feline Eye Kohl and apply Ardell Babies fake lashes.

Lips
Start by outlining the shape of your lips with MAC Cherry Lip Pencil. Using a lip brush, apply MAC Russian Red Lipstick onto the lips.

Halloween Hair Ideas: Ethereal Fairy Braids from Vivienne Westwood Gold Label S/S 2012

The perfect Halloween getup requires the right hair and makeup. If you are dressing up as a fairy or mystical creature this Halloween, try this gorgeous “mystically ethereal” hairstyle created by Pantene Global Stylist Ambassador, Sam McKnight, for the Vivienne Westwood’s S/S 2012 Gold Label show!

Step 1. Start with freshly washed and conditioned hair, using Pantene Pro-V Medium-Thick Hair Solutions Breakage to Strength Shampoo and Conditioner to create the perfect base.

Step 2. Next give your hair a boost by applying the Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Style Triple Action Volume Mousse throughout. Then blow-dry smooth using a flat bristle brush, concentrating on smoothing the length of the hair with the brush for a soft result.

Step 3. Once completely dry, create a full circle parting round the circumference of the hair line (just a couple of inches in) and let the loose hair fall down and create a ‘veil’ around the hair line.

Step 4.Create 2-3 diagonal partings at random, and secure each section of hair in to a ponytail and secure with a snag-free elastic.

Step 5.Next braid each pony tail and secure at the end. Loosen the braid a little by pulling it slightly apart with your fingers.

Step 6. Loop each braid back on itself and secure against the original ponytail – use hair clips to hold in place if needed.

Step 7. Apply Pantene Pro-V Restore Beautiful Lengths Smoothing Balm to the ends to smooth away any frizz.

Step 8. Finish the style with a generous spray of Pantene Classic Care Hairspray to keep the look in place.

Bring out your inner child this Halloween with a Minnie Mouse look! All you need is a pair of Minnie ears, red lips and my must have for Halloween, fake eyelashes!

What I Used
* Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation SPF 10 in 2.3

* NARS Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
* Jealousness Waterproof Eyeliner in Smoked Black BK-II

Face
Start by evening out your skin with foundation. Add concealer and powder as needed. Sweep a matte baby pink blush from the Pixi Holiday 2011 Ultimate Beauty Kit onto the apples of your cheeks for a dolly look and add a shimmery light beige powder down the nose to highlight. Using a liquid liner like the Jealousness Waterproof Eyeliner in Smoked Black BK-II, carefully draw on a Micky Mouse beauty mark right above your cheekbones.

Eye
Fill in the eyebrows with a dark brown eyeshadow from the Pixi Holiday 2011 Ultimate Beauty Kit. Then, prep the eyelid with NARS Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. Using a dense eyeshadow brush like MAC #239, pat a matte white eyeshadow from the Pixi Holiday 2011 Ultimate Beauty Kit onto the eyelid. Define the crease with a matte medium brown eyeshadow from the Pixi Holiday 2011 Ultimate Beauty Kit. Blend back and forth in a windshield motion with MAC #226 Small Tapered Blending Brush. Next, apply the Jealousness Waterproof Eyeliner in Smoked Black BK-II along the upper lashline. Curl your eyelashes, apply a coat of black mascara then a set of full lashes like Makeup For Life Lashes in Diva on top. Lips

Makeup Tutorial: Spider Woman Halloween Makeup by Kabuki

Need Halloween makeup ideas? Check out the following makeup tutorial by famed makeup artist Kabuki on how to create a purple and black Spider Woman look that is scarily beautiful.

Step 1.Prep The Face
Start by smoothing down eyebrows by rubbing a glue stick over them. Apply myface.cosmetics mymix foundation all over the face, including the brows. Put concealer wherever needed, and set with powder.

Step 2. Create the brow and eyes
Use myface.cosmetics high def eye pencil in Violet to trace the line of the eyebrow that you want to create, starting at the top inner corner of the brow and winging out to the temples. Use the same pencil to sketch the lower eyeliner shape and also an outline for the upper liner that will cover the whole upper lid. Fill in the space between the eyebrow and the lid liner with myface.cosmetics Purple Haze blingtone. Apply with a finger and blend outwards at the inner corners of the eye. Then draw a graceful eyebrow using myface.cosmetics slinky liquid liner following the guideline you have already established.

Next, use the same slinky liquid liner to fill in the bottom eye liner and the top eyelid, following the pencil guideline.

Add a dab of myface.cosmetics Diamonds & Pearls blingtone in the space between the lower and upper liner for brightness. Use the two purple eyeshadows in myface.cosmetics Purple Haze eyetouch trio to create depth, shading the blingtone into the top eyeliner.

Step 3. Sculpt the cheekbones
Sculpt the cheekbones with a strong blush color, myface.cosmetics R&B rouge/blusher in Paradiso Pink, following the upward sweep of the eye make-up.

Step 4: The web effect
To create a guide for the thin lines of the web, coat the edge of a piece of cardstock with the slinky and make an impression of the line on your face. Start with the inner lines and work outwards.

Step 5: The Spider lips
Put concealer around the corners and cupid’s bow of the lip and set with powder. Draw the shape of the lip with the high def eye pencil creating a sharp V-shape in the center of the top lip and fill in the whole lip shape with pencil. Perfect the lip line with black liquid liner. Dot a little myface.cosmetics Purple Haze or Diamonds & Pearls blingtone in the center of the lower lip as a metallic highlight.
