A little bit of 60s with Lady Caroline Blackwood was the idea behind the gorgeous gray shadow, lashes and pink lips at Ruffian Spring/Summer ’14. The look, consisting of a dash of pink and gray shadow (March Mist and Particularly Pretty from MAC Spring/Summer 2014 Forecast Eye Palette) along with a dab of peachy lip color (Trendy Twist from MAC Spring/Summer 2014 Forecast Lip Palette), is not only simple but so wearable for spring! And did I mention that super cool minimalistic crescent manicure in nude and purple?
At Derek Lam A/W ’14, Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux paired a strong eye in shades of green and gray with a rosy nude lip. “Derek’s collection is strong, urban, ethnic-inspired with an emphasis on texture. The makeup look is strong, yet fluid, with pools of gray and green surrounding the eye. I was inspired by water, a lagoon, deep and cool.” said Tom.
At the Marchesa Spring/Summer 2014 Bridal Runway Show, Revlon Global Artistic Director Gucci Westman created an ethereal, luminous look with a soft smoky eye and glossy lips.
Using NARS Cosmetics, makeup artist Val Garland created an eye look at Roland Mouret A/W 2013 with a gorgeous side profile shape. “The eyelid is traced with black and clean in the middle, but not too perfect – there’s a greyness to keep it modern. It is literally the way a girl would wear her makeup now to go out, with the lip color dabbed on but not perfectly applied – it’s cooler that way.” said Val.
At Jean Pierre Braganza A/W 2013, MAC Cosmetics makeup artist Terry Barber created a “gothic but gorgeous” look with dramatic eyes and nude lips.
At Alexander Wang Fall 2013, NARS Cosmetics created an “almost hooded… matte look, with a gradation of grey color brushed up into brows” while CND created a time worn sand stone manicure on an androgynous length providing an urban vibe.
