Makeup Tutorial: Soft Pink Valentine’s Day Makeup Look

Looking for makeup ideas to impress your date or significant other this coming Valentine’s Day? Try this soft pink makeup look you can whip up in just 10 minutes. Step-by-step tutorial after the jump!

Step 1. After prepping the eye area with a base (I used Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow in Shore), line the upper lashline with Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero.

Step 2. Before the eyeliner sets, smudge it with NARS Lhasa Eyeshadow to soften the look.

Step 3. Using a fluffy brush like MAC #217 Blending Brush, sweep the medium pink eyeshadow from NARS Douce France Trio Eyeshadow onto the eyelid. Blend past the crease.

Step 4. Sweep the lightest shade from NARS Douce France Trio Eyeshadow onto the brow bone.

Step 5. Line the lower lashline with Urban Decay Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero.

Step 6. Again, soften the line with NARS Lhasa.

Step 7. Apply a few coats of black mascara on top and bottom lashes. Add a pair of full fake lashes like Piccasso Eyeme Premium Fake Eyelashes in S30.

Step 8. Smile big and apply the medium pink shade from NARS Douce France Trio Eyeshadow onto the apples. Blend towards the temples.

Step 9. Finish the look with a warm pink lipstick like NARS Satin Lipstick in Bilbao.

Done!

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Face Of The Day

Over the weekend, I finally got to play with my new Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. Since there are more cool-toned colors in this one, I opted for a soft, smoky look with gray and brown.

What I Used

* Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Moisture Foundation in #113
* MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus
* Senna Form A Brow Eyebrow Stencil Kit in Neutral
* NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
* Urban Decay Pistol Eyeshadow from Naked 2 Palette
* Urban Decay Verve Eyeshadow from Naked 2 Palette
* Urban Decay Busted Eyeshadow from Naked 2 Palette
* Urban Decay Blackout Eyeshadow from Naked 2 Palette
* Urban Decay Bootycall Eyeshadow from Naked 2 Palette

Step by Step

Step 1. Even out the skin with Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Moisture Foundation. Set oily areas with Mineralize Skinfinish.

Step 2. Fill in the eyebrows with matching brow powder and prep the eye area with NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.

Step 3. Using the Good Karma Shadow Brush, pat Pistol eyeshadow onto the eyelid.

Step 4. Darken the outer v with Busted eyeshadow.

Step 5. Blend with Good Karma Crease Brush.

Step 6. Draw a thick line along the upper lashes with Blackout eyeshadow. Wet the brush for more intensity.

Step 7. Pat Verve on the inner corner to make the eyes pop.

Step 8. Sweep Bootycall eyeshadow under the brow bone.

Step 9. Curl lashes before applying mascara. Add fake lashes as desired.

Step 10. Smile big and sweep Hervana Face Powder onto cheekbones.

Step 11. Apply Albatross down the nose to make it appear taller.

Step 12. Finish with Naked Lip Junkie Lipgloss.

NARS Arabian Nights Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial

As requested, here is a look with step-by-step tutorial on NARS Arabian Nights Trio Eyeshadow, a gorgeous trio of black shadows with glitter. Hope you guys like it!

Step 1. Prep the eyelid with NARS Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base to ensure more vibrant and longer-lasting color.

Step 2. Using a small synthetic brush, apply NARS Lili Marlene Cream Eyeshadow on the eyelid. This will help to prevent glitter fall out.

Step 3. Pat – don’t sweep – the middle shade of NARS Arabian Nights Trio Eyeshadow (black with purple glitter) onto the eyelid. A dense brush like Korean brand Piccasso #239B is perfect for this.

Step 4. Using a pencil brush like MAC #219, darken the outer v with the black with silver glitter shade located right of NARS Arabian Nights Trio Eyeshadow.

Step 5. With a fluffy brush like MAC 224 Blending Brush, blend the black shade onto the crease and soften the edges without touching the color on the center.

Step 6. Brush the shimmery white shade in NARS Pandora Duo Eyeshadow under the brow bone with a flat brush like inky by zing 07 Highlighter Brush. Blend downwards.

Step 7. To play up the purple glitter, add a dab of the pearlescent purple from NARS Jolie Poupee Duo Eyeshadow in the center of the eyelid. This will also add a nice twist to an otherwise plain black smoky eye.

Step 8. Run a black pencil eyeliner like Jealousness on both upper and lower lash lines.

Step 9. Soften the liner with the right shade in NARS Arabian Nights Eyeshadow Trio.

Step 10. Using a black liquid liner like Jealousness Waterproof Eyeliner in Smoked Black BK-II, reline the upper lash line.

Step 11. Apply mascara add a pair of fake lashes like Jealousness Fake Lashes in Bewitched JS-507 for maximum intensity.

Halloween Makeup Ideas: Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas Makeup Look

Not a fan of cutesy Halloween looks? Here’s a “scarier” look inspired by Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas!

* Make Up For Ever 12 Flash Color Case
* Pixi Holiday 2011 Ultimate Beauty Kit
* MAC Feline Eye Kohl
* MAC Knight Divine Eyeshadow
* Anna Sui Lash Amplifying Mascara in 001 Star Black
* Makeup For Life Lashes in Diva
* Ardell Lashes in Babies
* MAC Cherry Lip Pencil
* MAC Russian Red Lipstick

Face
Apply a light turquoise color like the Turquoise 000 color from the Make Up For Ever 12 Flash Color Case all over your face, including the eyelids. Contour and highlight with the brown and light beige shadows from the Pixi Holiday 2011 Ultimate Beauty Kit as desired. Using a black pencil liner like MAC Feline Eye Kohl, draw on switches from the forehead down to the cheekbone and by the lips. Go over the lines with a black cream or gel liner like the Black 011 shade from the Make Up For Ever 12 Flash Color Case for a more dramatic effect.

Eye
Fill in the eyebrows with a reddish brown eyeshadow from the Pixi Holiday 2011 Ultimate Beauty Kit. Darken the crease with a dark gray eyeshadow like MAC Knight Divine. Next, apply the Jealousness Waterproof Eyeliner in Smoked Black BK-II along the upper lashline. Curl your eyelashes, apply a coat of black mascara then a set of full lashes like Makeup For Life Lashes in Diva on top. Reapply your liquid eyeliner and make sure to fill in any gaps between your natural lashes and the fake lashes. Rim the lower waterline with MAC Feline Eye Kohl and apply Ardell Babies fake lashes.

Lips
Start by outlining the shape of your lips with MAC Cherry Lip Pencil. Using a lip brush, apply MAC Russian Red Lipstick onto the lips.
