The city following a rainy afternoon served as inspiration for the layers of grays and pops of brighter colors at Wes Gordan A/W ’14. “The beauty look is inspired by the taupes of a cold, rainy day. It’s a grayish brown, almost mushroom color. The Wes Gordon woman is strong and masculine; she wears just the right amount of makeup,” explained lead artist Alice Lane working for Maybelline.
Inspired by “delicate and youthful beauty… ephemeral and nostalgic creating a beautiful glow”, the look at Rodarte A/W ’14 was dark, glittery but simply beautiful.
Inspired by the “it girls” of today and Parisian gritty chic style, the Jill Stuart A/W ’14 collection was designed with a reformed rock n’roll wild child in mind. As a result, models were given an uber smudgy eye look with dewy skin and nude nails.
“A woman out in a New York night” was the inspiration behind the glossy platinum eye Charlotte Tilbury created for the Donna Karan A/W ’14 show.
At Naeem Khan AW ‘14, NARS Director of Global Artistry James Boehmer created a gorgeous yet fresh look with shades of gold on the eyes and red on the lips. It’s so nice to finally see some red for fall!
The Libertine A/W ’14 collection was colorful, heavily embellished and showcased a variety of textures with the introduction of fur. This translated into a beauty look that was glam, goth and a bit of a party girl who has been digging around in diamonds.
