“This is the kind of makeup that gets better and better the more lived-in and the longer you wear it,” says Gordon Espinet. Read on to find out how the makeup guru created the gorgeous looks from the Dsquared² Fall 2009 runway show with the latest MAC DSquared2 Collection.
The Paris Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2009 Fashion Week has finally come to a wrap and below are some of my favorite looks. Chanel Super thick winged out eyeliner + nude face = Fierce.
At the Chloé A/W 2009 show, models walked the runway with big, beautiful hair and heavily contoured faces. So ’80s yet so hot!
At the Valentino A/W 2009 show, models strutted in a simple yet beautiful collection of dresses by new designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli. I really loved the acid yellow, turquoise, emerald green and wine that were used and the hair and makeup go so well with the look!
At the Fall 2009 show, Karl Lagerfeld mixed in the popular ’80s theme we see this season with futurism. He kept his pieces tailored and added in a military twist with “bridge shoulders” and fur helmets.
Compared to the Vivienne Westwood Red Label Fall 2009 collection we saw at London Fashion Week, the Vivienne Westwood Fall 2009 collection was a disappointment. While there are some pieces that I liked, the Mantegna-inspired collection just feels like all over the place. The makeup and hair, on the other hand, are much better though.…
Dior’s shows are always fun to watch and the A/W 2009 show was no exception. Designer John Galliano mixed both East and West to give us a collection of flowy, embroidered dresses in bright colors and sleek black and grey jackets paired with skirts.
Balmain’s A/W 2009 collection is definitely not for the faint-hearted or the day. The collection is packed with super short dresses, jackets and pants decorated with sequins, studs and crystals and the color choice of gunmetal, black and midnight blue is *gorgeous*!
