CoverGirl Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliner Review, Swatches and Photos

The latest addition to CoverGirl Queen Collection are six new Vivid Impact Eyeliners that promise to create striking, lasting eyeliner looks with the effortless application of a pencil.

With a smudger tip on one end, the Vivid Impact Eyeliners look exactly like CoverGirl Liquiline Blast Eyeliner. The only difference? The colors, which are marketed towards women of color but much, much better in my opinion and perfect for anyone. Midnight is a flat black; Truffle is a flat brown; Jade 310 is a dark teal with shimmer; Cabernet is a dark burgundy; Gilt is an olive green with shimmer and Amethyst is a silvery purple with shimmer.

Just like the Liquidline Blast, these eyeliners have a creamy texture that glides on like butter with zero skipping and tugging. Color payoff is also excellent and once it sets, it will not budge, not even if you rub it or put water over it.

Bottom line, CoverGirl Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliner is amazing and definitely comparable to my favorite Jealousness Waterproof Gel Eyeliners and Make Up For Ever Aqua Eye Eyeliners.

NARS Douce France Trio Eyeshadow Review, Swatches and Photos

The latest NARS Spring 2012 Collection brings us Douce France, a new, limited-edition eyeshadow trio in complementary shades of pink.

On the left of the trio is a “shimmery icy pink”, an ivory with a tinge of pink and very fine shimmer. It has a slightly chalky texture and I had a hard time getting it to show up on my NC30 skin. The wearability also seemed to be lacking, with the color disappearing almost completely after a few hours.

In the middle is a “shimmery rose petal pink”. The color shows up as a gorgeous medium rosy pink with fine shimmer and reminds me of a cooler version of Jane Bombshell. The pigmentation is much better but thanks to its super soft texture, it has the tendency to blend out easily. It does, however, stay on a good five to six hours without creasing or fading.

Finally, on the right is a matte dark raspberry red that is true to its description of a “matte deep rose”. At first, I was a little intimidated by how it looked in the pan but once I swatched it, I fell in love. The muted undertones makes it wearable not only as an eyeshadow, but also a blush. In addition, it goes on very smoothly with excellent color payoff and stays on well, even without a primer underneath.

Bottom line, Douce France is a gorgeous trio of wearable pinks that go very well with one another. However, at this price, the formula could be more pigmented and long-wearing.

Make Up For Ever Aqua Liners
Formulated with acrylic copolymer that forms a flexible film to lock water out, together with amino acids derived from apply juice, the Aqua Liner promises to deliver a long-lasting, waterproof result with high-color intensity and bold pay-off.

The liner is packaged exactly like Stila Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner and MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner, and comes in a long, slim tube with a small foam tip that allows great precision.

The 15 shades available range from bright hues of blue, green, purple, gold, fuchsia, burgundy to work-safe colors like black and brown, and come in 3 finishes. Matte is a flat color, Iridescent comes with tiny shimmer and Diamond leaves behind a sparkling finish.

I have two colors – #16 Diamond White, a frosty silvery white that works great on the tear duct and #8 Iridescent Electric Purple, a shimmery royal purple that makes brown eyes pop.

Just like the Stila, the Aqua Liner glides on easily with great ease. Pigmentation too is great and it wears very well throughout the day with zero flaking, smudging or fading too.

Stila Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner Review and Swatches

I FINALLY got my hands on the new Stila Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liners from the Sparkle and Glow Summer 2011 Collection! Read on to find out if they live up to my expectations.

Packaged in a slim tube with a pointy sponge-tip applicator, the Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner is an exact dupe of MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner. There are eight gorgeous colors available, including bright teal, blue, purple, green, olive, gray, brown and black. They all contain microglitter that is so fine it never scratches my skin.

Sequins is a very dark charcoal/soft black with silver glitter while Rock Candy is an antiqued goldish brown with gold glitter. Both colors are gorgeous and a great alternative to your regular black and brown.

Compared to the MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner, the applicator is slightly softer. It goes on nicely without tugging the skin and you can easily create a line with thin to medium thickness.

The formula itself is slightly runny but applies quite evenly and dries right away. Pigmentation is good but seems to vary by color. With Sequins, all I need is one stroke to get the color I want but with Rock Candy, I do have to go over the line again to get a solid brown color.

The best part is it does live up to the claim of being ultra long-lasting. The liner stayed on all day without smearing, smudging or flaking yet came off easily with an oil-based remover like my favorite Botanics Soothing Eye Make-Up Remover.

Overall, Stila Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner is a very nice liquid eyeliner with great color selection and wearability.

Finally dug up the Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner I picked up during my last visit to Asia!

The eyeliner comes in a sleek, red tube with gold rose imprints. Unlike most liquid eyeliners, all you have to do is shake and the product will be dispensed automatically – how nice and easy!

The 0.1mm felt-tip applicator is the finest I have ever seen in a liquid liner and allows great precision. You can easily create a really thin line or a thick one with a few layers. It also works perfectly for filling in those tiny gaps between your lashes and even on the waterline.

There is only one color available, Black, which comes out a very pigmented, intense black.

Another thing I love about this is the formula. It is water, sweat and oil-resistant and contains chamomile and saxifrage extracts to help nourish your skin. It applies smoothly and semi-wet but dries really fast. Once it sets, it stays on all day without smearing or flaking yet comes off easily with warm water.

Definitely my favorite drugstore liquid eyeliner next to Barry M Liquid Liner and Milani Eye Tech Liquid Eye Liner!
