We all know how stress can wreak havoc on the skin but now you can fight it with Kenzoki’s latest Angel Eyes from the Belle De Jour range.

Containing White Lotus, Angel Eyes claims to significantly boost the appearance of younger, healthier looking skin by reducing the effects of cortisol, aka stress hormone. In clinical trials, levels of cortisol in saliva were shown to decrease by a whooping 13% after a single application. Angel Eyes also claims to improve the production of beta endorphins and promote an overall feeling of well-being.

Lately, I have become obsessed with Kenzo’s Relaxing White Lotus skincare line. The line is inspired by white lotus and is all about milky textures and divine fragrances to help your skin relax. All products come in a white, minimalistic packaging and are suitable for all skin types, especially those with stressed-out skin.

The Relaxing Whipped Eye Cream ($45) is definitely my favorite from the line.

It contains plant water, white lotus, essential oils and mineral salts (which are the main ingredients in the White Lotus line) along with Actiflow to stimulate circulation and reduce black circles and puffiness, and Dormance/ Narcissus Bulb Extract to slow down cells to preserve energy.

The texture is very velvety and sinks in like a dream. My eyes feel instantly refreshed, moisturized and definitely less puffy. I also use this in the AM and never had a problem putting makeup on top.

Thanks to the drier fall weather, 8-hour plane rides and my hectic schedule, my dehydrated combination skin has been acting up more than ever! Not only did it get super dry and dull, I also developed a small flaky patch close to the jawline on the left side of my face – gross I know! Lucky the folks at Vichy came to my rescue and sent me two awesome products from their Aqualia Thermal line.

For years, I have heard many good things about Sisley, a high-end skincare line from France. And now that I am in my mid-twenties, I paid a visit to the closest Sisley counter at House Of Frasier looking to splurge on a nice eye cream for myself.

Initially, the sales assistant had recommended Sisley Eye and Lip Contour Complex for younger skin but since I wear eye makeup on a daily basis and my eye area is on the drier side, I wanted something richer to prevent wrinkles and help with puffiness and circles – hence the Sisleya Eye and Lip Contour Cream.

The eye cream is formulated with a high concentration of active ingredients including Padina Pavonica algae extract, Matricaria, Licorice, Wheat proteins, and vitamins E, B5 and F to moisturize, tone, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and prevent the appearance of under-eye puffiness and dark circles. The texture felt slightly thicker than other eye creams I have used but still really easy to spread and easily absorbed. It also did not feel greasy and it worked great with my concealer.

I have been using this for almost a few months now but it only took one application to see a difference. My eyes were instantly more toned, moisturized and less puffy and over time, I think my undereye circles have faded a little too. Definitely worth the hefty £80 price tag!

Avene Soothing Eye Contour Cream was one of the very first eye creams I ever purchased and so true to its name! Formulated with Avène Thermal Spring Water (68%), Dextran sulfate, Hyaluronic acid, Pre-tocopheryl (a patented and stable form of vitamin E) and Chamomile to soothe, fight inflammation, reduce puffiness and hydrate, this little gem from France worked perfectly on even super sensitive or irritated skin. For a while I was struggling with eczema on my eyelids, this was the only eye cream that kept my dry flaky skin moisturized without further irritating it.

Other than this though, I don’t think it did anything more than what a basic eye cream would do. I did not see any changes in undereye circles or bags despite continued use. Nonetheless, Avene Soothing Eye Contour Cream is a fool-proof product that will keep your eye area moisturized and I always go back to it when my skin starts acting up.
