MAC Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Eye Cream and Charged Water Cleanser Reviews

During my last trip to the MAC store, I picked up two new products from the latest Mineralize Skincare Collection.

MAC Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Eye Cream and Cleanser
The Mineralize Charged Water Cleanser ($23) is a lightweight cleanser formulated with ionized Super-Duo Charged Water technology, cucumber extract, caffeine, yeast extract and more to gently remove makeup without scrubbing, massaging or rinsing while leaving skin clear and conditioned. It comes in a 100ml blue-tinted bottle the same size as MAC Fix+. There is no pump attached so you just pour directly onto a cotton pad then wipe over the skin.

Similar to Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water and Mandom Cleansing Express Lotion, this goes on non-greasy and super lightweight with a faint scent. It does a pretty good job removing light makeup without drying out my skin but for long-wearing and waterproof formulas, I have to go back to my favorite Kose Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil.

One thing I love about it though, is how gentle it is. Unlike the Mandom that stung my eye like crazy, this does not irritate or burn my skin the slightest bit. Not bad if you are looking for something quick to take off your everyday makeup or correct a mistake during application!

The Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Eye Cream ($35), on the other hand, is a rich eye cream that comes in a 15ml jar. Again infused with the ionized Super-Duo Charged Water technology, it also contains Oat Kernel Extract, Sweet Almond Seed Extract, Soybean Protein, Caffeine and Algae Extract to moisturize and minimize dark circles and puffiness instantly and over time.

The eye cream has a nice, light texture like the La Mer The Eye Concentrate I loved. You only need the smallest amount and it sinks right into the skin. While I did not see an immediate difference in terms of undereye circles and puffiness, this does smooth out the eye area nicely and leave me feeling rested. It also works very well under makeup, keeping any fine lines at bay and my foundation and concealer from caking.

My only complaint is the packaging. A bottle with a pump dispenser or tube packaging would have been more hygienic and easier to use.

Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark-Circle Roller Review and Swatches

Right after I found out about the new Garnier Skin Naturals Light BB Instant Fairness BB Eye Roll-On that launched in Asia, I decided to give its American equivalent a shot.

Similar to the original Skin Renew Anti-Puff Roller which has already made quite a buzz on YouTube, the Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark-Circle Roller utilizes a roller applicator that you roll directly under the eye.

Ingredients include:

• Caffeine to energize and stimulate microcirculation.
• Lemon Essence to brighten in just one week.
• Mineral Pigments to instantly correct dark circles.

I read on MUA that this comes in different shades but I can only find Sheer Tint, a light peachy color, at my local Target. Lucky for me, the shade is a perfect match for my NC30 skin and works great on light to medium skin tones.

Texture-wise, it is rather thin and runny. It applies with a slight cooling feeling that is so refreshing. The roller is also excellent for on-the-go application and touching up. I like to roll this from the inner corner to the outer corner once, let the product sit for a few seconds then pat with my finger to blend.

As for the coverage, it is on the light side but still managed to brighten up my undereye area and wipe out 3/4 of my circles. You can also wear this over foundation and concealer if you need more coverage.

The only thing I wish could be better its moisturizing ability. While this applies fine without looking cakey like concealer, it can creep into fine lines when my skin is dry. If you have dry skin around your eyes, you might want to use an eye cream underneath.

NUXE Crème Prodigieuse Eye Cream and Day Cream Reviews

Coveted by top models and celebs all over the world, the famous NUXE Multi-Usage Prodigieuse Dry Oil has been transformed into a new face care line, Crème Prodigieuse, and will hit the shelves this fall!

The new line consists of four daily anti-fatigue moisturizing creams – an eye cream, two day creams and a night cream – for women of all ages. All products contain at least 89.3% of ingredients of natural origin and are formulated without parabens. For my dehydrated combo skin, I was sent Contour des Yeux Prodigieux and Crème Prodigieuse – Normal to Combination Skin to try out.

The Contour des Yeux Prodigieux is a fluid eye cream that promises to smooth away signs of stress and fatigue from around the eyes by re-energizing the skin and combating the appearance of visible signs of aging, helping protect the skin from the effects of oxidative stress caused by daily environmental assaults. Ingredients include:

• Blue Everlasting, a flower that resists stress and possesses anti-free radical and anti-oxidant properties superior to those of vitamins C and E. It helps to protect the skin from external assaults and thus generating fewer free radicals for radiance and youthful appearance.
• Blue Agerate, a flower that is rich in polyphenols and flavonoids to help reduce the appearance of inflammation caused by free radicals. It also protects the skin from internal factors of oxidative stress so it becomes less reactive and retains its full radiance.
• Cocoa Extract to help delay epidermal cell aging by reducing the number of senescent cells by 50%. It also helps to offset the cellular deficit by increasing the capital of new cells ready to replace attacked cells. Skin is protected from the appearance of visible signs of premature aging, a major consequence of oxidative stress.
• Hyaluronic Acid to moisturize and smoothe fine lines caused by dehydration in the eye.

• Plant caffeine extracted from green coffee beans for drainage-enhancing and clearing properties to diminish the look of dark circles and reduce undereye puffiness.

The texture is really light and sinks into the skin quickly. Right away, my eye area feels hydrated and so refreshed. The eye cream also works great under makeup without causing my foundation/concealer to ball up. I have yet to see a difference in my undereye circles but I definitely noticed a reduction in puffiness.

The Crème Prodigieuse, on the other hand, is a moisturizing day cream. Again it contains the main ingredients of the Crème Prodigieuse line – Blue Everlasting, Blue Agerate and Cocoa Extract -, along with mattifying mineral powders to modulate the light, soften the appearance of prominent zones and skin imperfections and mattify the complexion.

The texture is a little thicker than the eye cream but gets absorbed equally as fast and painless. It does a good job moisturizing my skin and leaves behind a velvety finish, which makes a great makeup base as well.

My only complaint would be the lack of SPF. Having to apply a separate sunscreen just seems a bit too much work since I’m always in a rush in the mornings. For that reason, I save this for the PM.

Bottom line, Crème Prodigieuse is a great basic skincare line that has kept my dehydrated combo skin supple and happy. Not to mention, the signature Prodigieuse Dry Oil scent is just HEAVENLY and so soothing! I definitely recommend the Crème Prodigieuse line for those with younger skin or do not need a lot of “correction”.

Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultimate Lift Age-Correcting Eye Creme Review

Combining Life Re-Newing Molecules, Black Tourmaline, South Sea Pearls along with other sea plant extracts to repair, recharge, restore and give you the ultimate lift on every level, Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultimate Lift Age-Correcting Eye Creme promises to deliver the most dramatic age-correcting results ever.

The eye cream has a nice, blendable texture that gets absorbed into the skin easily. It feels lightweight, never greasy and works very well under makeup. Although it is not the most moisturizing eye cream out there, it does an excellent job in keeping my eye area puff-free and wrinkle-free.

I also love using this as a lip cream (a trick I picked up from runway makeup artist Christopher Kam during a makeover). I have the driest, flakiest lips all year round but whenever I apply this to my lips, they become instantly softened and any lip product I apply afterwards will just glide right on.

And to justify the $100 price tag, the eye cream comes in a generous 50ml tub so you actually get a lot of product that will last quite some time.

La Mer The Eye Concentrate Review

Lately, I have fallen in love with La Mer’s The Eye Concentrate, an eye cream that contains a combo of precious sea ingredients and magnetic energies of minerals to reduce the appearance of dark circles, wrinkles, puffiness and keep the eye area in a calm, more balanced state.

The Eye Concentrate comes in a small 0.5 oz jar with a silver tip applicator. All you need is a tiny dab under the eyes so a jar will last you quite a while.

The texture is rich, creamy and just divine. It moisturizes very well but sinks into the skin right away without feeling greasy. Whenever I put this on, my eye area feels hydrated and soothed while being completely milia and puff-free. I can also apply makeup right after and my foundation and concealer always goes on so smoothly without caking or sliding off .

The best part is how effective it is in keeping the eye area toned and fighting undereye circles. I saw an improvement in just a few weeks and it has completely saved my eyes after my two hardcore partying trips in Vegas.

I will definitely repurchase when my sample runs out. Thanks La Mer for making such a great product!
