Dior’s shows are always fun to watch and the A/W 2009 show was no exception. Designer John Galliano mixed both East and West to give us a collection of flowy, embroidered dresses in bright colors and sleek black and grey jackets paired with skirts.

Here are some of the latest looks from the Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture S/S 2009. Is it me or are the Christian Dior and JPG looks very similar to those from the Fall 2008 Haute Couture fashion shows?
Christian Dior
Similar to what we saw at the Fall 2008 show, this look is all about bright solid colors smeared around the eyes and winged black eyeliner – but with a kick. A solid black line was added on the outer corner of the lower eye, the lips are no longer muted but painted with a bright red and the brow bone, bridge of the nose, chin, cheekbones and cupid’s bow are all highlighted with a super frosty silver color. One word – fierce!

Fresh off the Fall 2008 Couture fashion shows, we are seeing graphic eyeliner everywhere – thick and winged out, on the crease and even under the eye. The look is young, bold and totally now so if you have not mastered the art of lining, you better dig out your eyeliner and start practicing pronto!
Jean Paul Gaultier
This reminds me of a look I did that was inspired by an Accessorize ad with super model Lily Cole. The trick is start out by drawing a line on your crease with a pencil before going over it with a black liquid liner. Keep the rest of your eye bare with just a thin line along your upper lash line and tons of mascara on top and bottom.
