Here are a couple of ways to find the right color for your blush:

1. According to Bobbi Brown, the perfect shade of blush should match the color of your cheeks when your skin is flushed or when you are working out. In other words, pick a rosy or peachy shade

2. Noelle Wong claims that the perfect blush color is the one that matches the pink/red that shows on your fingertips (palms up). Simply compare the color of your fingertips to the different shades at make up counters and pick the one that matches the most.

Color Recommendations
Pale Skin: Light pinks and corals are the way to go. Steer clear of anything dark or bright to avoid looking like a clown.

Yellow-toned: Warm pinks, plums and roses will flatter a yellow complexion. Stay away from brown shades that can bring your skin’s natural vibrancy down.

Dark Skin: Warm, tropical tones look hot on dark skin – think warm, terracotta shades, deep plums, and brown pinks or peaches. Avoid light colors at all cost because they will look ashy or may not show up on your skin.

Rule of Thumb
Remember the darker your skintone, the darker your blush color should be.

Jane Blushing CheeksWhile I love my NARS Orgasm Blush, Jane Blushing Cheeks in Blushing Plum is a great and affordable alternative. Despite the word “plum”, there is nothing plummy about it. Instead, the color is a gorgeous peach with fine shimmer that applies smoothly and with good pigmentation. The little black pot it comes in does look a little tacky but hey, at $3 a pop, I really can’t complain.

I will be starting off a list of blush reviews as requested by some of you. I personally prefer powder blushes over cream because they last longer and are easier to apply. Plus when you use a cream blush and blend too much, you might end up rubbing the color off.

Bourjois Little Round Pot BlushTo start off, let’s look at Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush, the the product that got Bourjois its fame.

The blush comes in a cute round pot with a built-in mirror and brush so you can apply on the go. It also has a baked texture that transforms into an ultra-fine pressed powder. I have Rose D’or 34, a shimmery rose petal pink color that is too too gorgeous to resist. The powder goes on super pigmented with a sweet rosy smell and when I apply this on my apples, it makes me look like a doll. I’m definitely going to start collecting these.
