To portray the idea of a woman who is “optimistic, independent and fearless”, models at Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2017 were given a messy smoky eye with a modern French manicure of antique pink paired against deep crimson.
Makeup: Gato for Maybelline
Nails: Michelle Saunders for essie
To begin, Gato applied Dream Cushion Foundation (launching January 2017) softly all over the skin, but with a very light touch. Then he used Master Strobe Illuminating Face Stick in Golden with a fan brush just along the cheekbones for a highlight.
For the statement eye, he blended the Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Ultra Black blended with Dream Cushion Foundation (launching January 2017) to make a cream-like eyeshadow with staying power. Next, he applied the blended duo with his finger for a messy look, adjusting to each model’s eye shape, before adding Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Ultra Black into the waterline. He layered Expert Wear Mono Eye Shadow in Khaki Camo over the top of the black base and into the inner corner of the eye. Finally, he applied The Falsies Push Up Angel Mascara.
To finish the look, he applied a touch of Lip Studio Shine Shot Glassy Topcoat on the eyebrows and brushed them up, then simply added Baby Lips in Quenched on the lips to keep it natural.
On the nails, essie go go geisha and maki me happy were used.
