With its Fall 2008 collection, NARS has turned its famous Dolce Vita Lipstick into a new blush.
Described as a “dusty rose”, NARS Dolce Vita Blush is a shimmer-less, muted rose that would work on various skintones. Since I am all for shimmer when it comes to blushes, I thought the color was gorgeous but a little too boring and conservative for my taste – until I tried it on. On my NC30 skin, it gave me an I-just-ran-a-mile kind of flush that looks natural and just healthy. Seriously ladies, this is the color spotted on those models on the runway with that rosy cheeks look!
The texture, like all NARS blushes, is very smooth and silky. It goes on pretty pigmented so if you are on the pale side, you would have to apply sparingly. The lasting powder is also great! I only have to apply this once in the morning and it stays on the whole day. This will definitely become one of my staples for the season!
Narscosmetics.com has now added a video section!! To learn how to apply blush like a pro, check out the following video:
NARS Dolce Vita Blush is available at narscosmetics.com and Sephora for $30.

Hey ladies, I know it’s not the right title but I want you all to know this issue. As you may know, Phyllis recommend NYX loose shadows as a substitute for MAC pigments and these NYXs are sold in Cherry Culture as well. I ordered the whole range of NYXs on Sep 16 and my order hasn’t arrived yet (It should come in 15-17 business days) When I sent an e-mail to customer services, they replied me presumptiously and said that they pass on all the risks of loss etc… I always shop online and had many troubles but never have such a reply. Therefore, let me warn you about it. Do not shop from Cherry Culture.
Hi Phyllis! Thanks for the review~ I have been wanting to buy a Nars powder blush for awhile and I’m not sure which shade to get. I was thinking Angelika because I really like pink blushes…But I also want a blush that looks natural…Do you like one over the other? Thanks!
hi phyllis! i'm an AVID reader of your blog & had a question for you:
what kind of brush would be the best to use for blush? i dont have very defined cheekbones (asian face) yet my face isn't long, but more oval shaped, so what would help me contour better? thank you!
