Girls with monolids and hooded eyelids can take a cue from Jennifer Lawrence on how to rock a smoky eye. The actress totally nailed the look at the LA Premiere of her upcoming movie “The Hunger Games” with shades of black and gold, paired with bronzed skin and nude lips. Tips on how to create the look from Jennifer’s makeup artist, Jillian Dempsey, after the jump!
“Jennifer likes to be daring with her look. She’s not afraid to really wear makeup,” said Jillian.
For Jennifer’s bold and glamorous look, Jillian put the focus on Jennifer’s eyes by lining them with Laura Mercier Caviar Eyeliner in Black and then layering a gold eyeshadow on the actress’s lids. Using a featherbrush, Jillian blended the edges of the liner with the gold shadow. Merging the two textures and colors helped create a multi-dimensional effect that appeared as a sparkling black. By darkening Jennifer’s brows, Jillian further accentuated the eyes and framed her face.
To create Jennifer’s sunkissed glow, Jillian used her new Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Perfect Contour Powder in Blissful to sculpt cheeks first, then layered a custom mix of Be Blushed Cheek Color by Avon in Tropical Peach and Stila Convertible Color in Peony on top. This created Jennifer’s overall soft, warm complexion.
For a finishing touch, Jillian opted for a nude lip. She applied Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Lip Stain in Coral Aquatique and then swiped on Ultra Color Rich Moisture Seduction by Avon in Nude Perfection to achieve a creamy texture.

I tried this and it worked ( sorta) I wore it to my
School and everybody was like Whoa!!! She looks
Hot!! Someone even asked me to prom!!! So
Excited!! I loved the movie too!!!
Just wondering, what type of eyes do you have? (I have monolids and sort of had a little trouble doing this look)
I absolutely loved this look! Jennifer is such a beautiful woman and I love that her makeup is very outgoing and bold but doesn’t ever look cakey! I searched for the Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Perfect Contour Powder in Blissful palette and I have to say it looks amazing the colours would suit me but unfortunately here in the UK it is nowhere to be seen! 🙁 but I adore this!
