Spring is almost here so here are two of my favorite spring looks for this year.
Look #1: Glitter Galore
As seen at the Christian Dior and Anna Sui Spring 2008 fashion shows, glitter is making its way back to the runway.
The key to wearing glitter on your face is to focus on one feature. If you want to play up your eyes, either dab a bit of glitter on the inner corners, line your bottom lashes with a glitter liner or you can go all out like the picture on the left. Just remember to keep the rest of your face understated with just gloss or lipstick. Alternatively, mix your favorite gloss with glitter or pat glitter over your lipstick. Unless you are trying to look drag or do a photoshoot, do not try to do glitter on both your eyes and lips – it will be an overkill.
If you are having trouble making the glitter stick to your skin, I highly recommend MAC’s Water-based Mixing Medium. It is available only at the Pro stores but trust me this stuff works like a charm. All you have to do is wet your brush with it then dip it into the glitter and gently pat onto your eye/lip area.

Look #2: Pretty in Pastel
Soft pastel colors are oh-so-sexy for spring and so easy to work with. Want proof? Just look at the models at the Valentino and Michael Kors 2008 Spring fashion shows.
Pastels are also great for beginners because most of the time, they are sheer and do not require a lot of blending. For a twist, pair colors that contrast each other, i.e. orange with violet or baby pink with minty green. Those with darker skin should stay away from frosty pastels to avoid looking ashy – choose colors in soft jewel tones instead.
Beware that pastels can have the tendency to wash you out so remember to tightline your lashes (a black line on top of the lashline will look too harsh), curl them and apply several coats of mascara on both the top and bottom. Throw on some peachy/pink blush and pucker up with a juicy lip color to finish the look.

What does it mean to “tightline” ones lashes?

In the last three pictures, all three models look washed out. I don’t think that shade of lipstick suits them.. it is a really pretty colour though.
Hey, i forgot which link was for requests, but my request is for a good brand at home hot hair rollers. My curling iron skills suck. Thanks.
