MAC C Shock Collection Reviews

When I first saw the promo pics and online swatches, I thought this was MY collection. I live for bright colors and everything looked so good for the summer! But when I finally got to see it in person, I was far from thrilled.

Eyeshadow ($14)

These are a HUGE HUGE disappointment! The colors all look really really pretty and are limited edition but the pigmentation is *terrible*. The texture is chalky and gritty and I seriously cannot imagine anyone using them dry. They are also really hard to blend and need a lot of patting to get the color to pop. A really good friend of mine was going to Vancouver before the collection was released in London so I still ended up getting him to get me Big T, an “intense aqua with green pearl” which looks more like a shimmery dark teal, and Going Bananas, a “soft lemon yellow”, which looks exactly the same as described. I will try to do a look with these colors shortly.

Lipstick ($14)
These are like so out there, especially Blast O’ Blue, a really bright blue, and they are definitely not for the faint-hearted. I ended up with Out To Shock, a very pretty frosty light pink that is oh-so-mod. Loves it!

LipGelee ($14)
Like everything else in the collection, these come in really bright colors but the sheer formula makes them a lot more wearable than you think. LipGelees are always non-drying and great for creating the juicy luscious lips. My favorite colors are She-Boom! and Lil Sizzler.
