This spring, Make Up For Ever brings us Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation , a wet/dry compact foundation that took over 6 years to make.

The Pro Finish Foundation contains an exclusive Vegetal Lecithin coating that wraps around each pigment for a more natural look along with Silica and Sericite powders to reflect light and create a soft focus effect and Ximenia oil and Aloe Vera powder for comfort and nourishment. It is also mineral oil, fragrance and paraben-free and contain significantly less talc than traditional powder foundations.

Like my favorite HD Invisible Cover Foundation from Make Up For Ever, the shade selection was HUGE with a total of 25 shades that range from fair to dark with golden, neutral and pink undertones. The numbering, however, is different. For my NC30 skin, I can wear #120 and #127 for the HD Foundation yet for the Pro Finish, I was sent #118 Neutral beige, a medium neutral color that was a little darker than my skintone.

The powder was super fine and I was really impressed by how easily it glided onto my dehydrated combo skin without highlighting dry patches or looking cakey. Unlike your regular wet/dry compact foundations, or two way cakes as they call it in Asia, it provided a sheer, satiny coverage when applied wet and a heavier, matte coverage when applied dry. I personally like to apply it wet then again dry on areas that require extra coverage.

The wear was also phenomenal. Like Shu Uemura Face Architect Glow Enhancing Powder Foundation (another powder foundation that I like), the Pro Finish stayed put all day without oxidizing or fading, even without a primer underneath. And the fact that the compact is so portable makes touching up on-the-go just as easy breezy.

The verdict? Love the versatility, ease of use, coverage and wear. Thanks MUFE for making a powder foundation that I love!

      Hi Angela,

I def prefer the Pro Finish over Studio Fix. The SF was too drying and oxidized on me.

Hi! I’m an nc30 as well. Did it look okay if natural beige looks darker than your natural color? Some people say this MUFE powder looked orange on them and it faded after 2-3 hrs of use. Have you experienced this?

Hi, I ended up picking up #117 during a MUFE makeover, which was a much better match for me (#118 Neutral beige was wayyyyy too dark and yellow). You can see pictures of me wearing #117 here. I didn’t have a problem with the foundation turning orange or fading.
