Makeup Tutorial: How To Apply Gel Eyeliner

As promised, here is a basic tutorial on how to apply gel eyeliner in just a few steps.

How To Apply Gel Eyeliner

Step 1. Tilt your head up slightly, gently lift the lid/brow bone and look down into a mirror.

Step 2. Using a thin brush like Sephora Long Handle Sable Eyeliner Brush, start at the middle of the lashline and line towards the outer corner.

Step 3. Go to the inner corner and line all the way to the middle.

Step 4. Check to see if there are any spaces between the eyeliner and lashline. If there is a gap, fill it in with more eyeliner.

Step 5 (Optional). Extend the line at the outer corner to elongate the eyes and you are done!

A Few More Things

* Unless you are trying to change the shape of your eyes, always line the whole way across the lid, following the natural shape of your eye. Keep the line thinner in the inner corner and thickest at the outer.

* While the dry time for most gel eyeliners tend to be short, try to keep your eyes closed or at least look down until the liner has set completely.

* On extremely oily lids, you can add a dab of translucent powder over the liner to increase its wear.
