January 18, 2012

Looking for makeup ideas to impress your date or significant other this coming Valentine’s Day? Try this soft pink makeup look you can whip up in just 10 minutes. Step-by-step tutorial after the jump!

Soft Pink Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial

Step 1. After prepping the eye area with a base (Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow in Shore), line the upper lashline with a black pencil eyeliner (Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero).

Step 2. Before the eyeliner sets, smudge it with a lavender gray color (NARS Lhasa Single Eyeshadow) to soften the look.

Step 3. Using a fluffy brush (MAC 217 Blending Brush), sweep a medium pink eyeshadow (middle shade of NARS Douce France Trio Eyeshadow) onto the eyelid. Blend past the crease.

Step 4. Sweep a light pink color (left shade of NARS Douce France Trio Eyeshadow) onto the brow bone.

Step 5. Line the lower lashline with a black pencil eyeliner (Urban Decay Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero).

Step 6. Again, soften the line with the lavender gray color (NARS Lhasa Single Eyeshadow).

Step 7. Apply a few coats of black mascara on top and bottom lashes. Add a pair of full fake lashes (Piccasso Eyeme Premium Fake Eyelashes in S30).

Step 8. Smile big and apply a medium pink color (middle shade of NARS Douce France Trio Eyeshadow) onto the apples. Blend towards the temples.

Step 9. Finish the look with a warm nude pink lipstick (NARS Satin Lipstick in Bilbao).

Done!

I like this a lot. I don’t prefer VDay looks that scream pink and red, this understated pretty is quite lovely.
