FOTD: Christina Aguilera Inspired Burlesque Makeup Look

November 19, 2010

Last week, BellaSugar posted a really cool tutorial on how to nail Christina Aguilera’s glittery eye makeup in the upcoming Burlesque movie. While I loved all that glam ‘n glitter, I toned down the look a notch by using a frosty pigment to make it more wearable. What do you ladies think?

hey Phyllis i was wondering whats ur technics when using pigments?! i still cant get a hold of using it without making a big mess and sometime it does not show up much. you u normally use it dry or wet?

      Thanks MEii =)

If you want the pigment to stand out, I definitely recommend starting out with a cream eyeshadow so the pigment has something to grab onto. Then, wet a dense eyeshadow brush (I use MAC Water Base Mixing Medium but your regular saline contact solution will do too) and pat the pigment onto the eyelid.

Here’s a little more info on how you can use pigments:

Hi Phyllis!! I’m sorry I haven’t been commenting lately~ I’ve just been kind of busy and out of the blog sphere >.< This is a really stunning look, as always. You're really good at translating your reference picture to your own eyes.. the looks always are exactly what you're trying to achieve. The Helium pigment looks soo pretty! was it le?
