With all the buzz going on about the Burlesque movie, how can I not blog about Dita Von Teese, the real Queen of Burlesque? Below are some of Dita’s beauty must-haves and beauty tricks I gathered from her Twitter account. Enjoy!
For her creamy pale complexion, Dita swears by L’oreal True Match in N1 (which is also Cher’s favorite), Dior Capture Totale Foundation in Light Beige, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light and Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for under the eyes. Her best skincare advice? “See a dermatologist for problem skin rather than spend money on miracle creams!”
To create her favorite ’50s eye, Dita’s go-to products are MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack (applied with a fine brush) and Guerlain Liquid Eyeliner. She also loves MAC Liquidlast Liners when her eyes get watery and for shows she does with water. Her trick to make liquid eyeliner dry faster? “Using a cute Chinese hand fan!”
When it comes to lipsticks, reds and pinks are handsdown Dita’s favorites. She also loves a fancy tube and rich texture. Here are some of her favorites:
* MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo
* MAC Lipstick in Lady Danger
* MAC Lipstick in Russian Red
* NARS Lipgloss in Daredevil
* Tom Ford Smoke Red
* Tom Ford Cherry Crush
* Tom Ford True Coral
* Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick in Exces De Rouge 523
* Dior Diorific in Rouge Bingo
* Face Stockholm Matte Lipstick in Claret
* MAC Lipliner in Beet
Hair-wise, Dita fluctuates between ’30s, ’40s and ’50s styles. She colors her naturally blonde hair with Garnier 100% Color Intense in Blue Black and uses hot rollers in small and medium sizes along with iron and clips to style it.
Again, red is Dita’s favorite when it comes to the nails. She loves a ’40s nail and prefers acrylics in pointed shape. “Square is out unless your nails are short” says Dita. Her must-have nail polishes are MAC Rougemarie, Essie Fishnet Stockings and Leighton Denny Passion.
