MAC Creme Team Collection Review and Swatches

February 6, 2009

Here is a quick review and swatches of the MAC Creme Team Collection!

MAC Creme Cup and Lavender Whip Cremesheen Lipsticks

I am so glad MAC decided to add more colors to the Cremesheen Lipstick formula and that they are going to be part of the permanent collection! I loved my Creme D’Nude and Modesty Lipsticks from the previous Cremesheen Collection and like them, these new colors are super creamy and highly pigmented. I went home with Crème Cup, a gorgeous nude pink color, and Lavender Whip, a unique lavender that shows up a really cool-toned pink with just the right amount of purple – both perfect for spring!

The new Cremesheen Glass are limited edition and will be available only through the end of March. They come in a tube that is slightly longer than the regular Tinted Lipglass. Compared to the Tinted Lipglass, these are a lot creamier and definitely less drying. Plus the colors are *beautiful*! When used alone, it gives a sheer glossy look with just a bit of color but when used on top of the Cremesheen lipsticks, it really makes the lipstick pop and gives such a nice glossy look! I got Petite Indulgence, a cool-toned hot pink, and Partial To Pink and I still want more!

I LOVE the last three looks. WOW!

I like the last two, they seem to be glossier…and pinker…

  • Reply Citrine February 6, 2009 at 11:03 pm

    P.S.

Oh, I was being stupid and didn’t know the last two are actually “lip gloss”

Anyway, pale matte color always make me look sick so I don’t usually pay much attention to those.

Phyllis, it doesn’t hurt that you have the lips to make the glosses look good!!

I actually read from a few people that the quality of these glosses are not so good, so I didn’t get any yet. However, after seeing your pictures, I want ALL of them. How’s the lasting power of the glosses? And the texture of creme cup?

  • Reply Catherine February 7, 2009 at 1:43 pm

Aww… I wish Creme Cup looked as good on me as it does on you. <3 Shy Girl though. =)

did u use any base before wearing creme cup lipstick? The colour looked different on u

  • Reply Phyllis February 7, 2009 at 11:05 pm

    Valerie,

I’m not wearing lipstick under the glosses.

  • Reply Phyllis February 7, 2009 at 11:27 pm

Thanks Skyle =) The glosses are pretty sheer so unlike the lipsticks, they will not stay on for a very long time.

I <3 Creme Cup and I wore it today! It goes on really smooth and creamy even on my chapped lips.

Oh, I need to go get petite indulgence today. I love it!

  • Reply Mishy February 8, 2009 at 11:47 pm

Phyllis, what do you think of the Ever so Rich Lip Glass? I heard people wear it over Lavender Whip.

  • Reply Karen February 9, 2009 at 1:08 am

I have been staring at your picture of Creme Cup for the 10 hours… I think I really need to get it…

  • Reply Phyllis February 9, 2009 at 9:40 am

Mishy, I did try the Ever So Rich gloss over Lavender Whip and it is pretty but the gloss is VERY sheer so unless you wear it with a lipstick underneath, you will not get much color at all.

  • Reply Phyllis February 9, 2009 at 9:40 am

    Get it Karen!!!! *lol*

  • Reply Carol February 9, 2009 at 10:35 am

OMG lavender whip looks amazing on you, i’ve checked out like a hundred other blogs and it by far looks the best on you. i might just have to get it now. can u do a full faced look with that lipstick?

  • Reply Shelly February 9, 2009 at 10:50 am

phyllis, which one would you recommend? is MAC Cremesheen Glass in Partial To Pink good? i mean, does it really look good, or just here in the pictures? and does it last? for an asian like me, which would you recommend? btw, you have fabulous lips!:D:)

  • Reply Phyllis February 9, 2009 at 12:17 pm

Thanks Carol! I will do a full face with the lipstick later this week =)

  • Reply Jacqueline February 9, 2009 at 1:08 pm

I second Carol. The colors look best on your lips from all the blogs I’ve read so far. 🙂

Do you think that the CremeSheen Glasses will show up on more pigmented lips?

  • Reply elllaella February 14, 2009 at 4:49 pm

i don’t think those are your lips because you don’t like showing your teeth when you smile…i don’t think your teeth look that nice

  • Reply Phyllis February 14, 2009 at 9:13 pm

    Thanks Jacqueline =)

Again, the Cremesheen Glasses are pretty sheer so if you have pigmented lips, stay away from the lighter colors.

  • Reply Phyllis February 14, 2009 at 9:19 pm

    Ellaella,

Thanks for paying so much attention to my pics but I have no idea where you get this idea. You can check out my Halloween FOTD where I posted a full face and a close-up picture of my lips (which ARE the same as the lips you see here).
