Looks amazing!!
01/11/2009 at 11:11 pm
beautiful as ever, Phyllis! i was wondering if youre wearing a circle lens contact, and if so, which one? the color looks natural but standout-ish!
01/12/2009 at 1:41 am
I love this look! It’s so much nicer on you than Miss Duff with your dark hair ; ) I never thought about pairing bright purple with nude. I will definitely have to try it.
01/12/2009 at 4:03 am
Make up alone does not achieve this look. Miss Duff went under the knife, got botox injection on lips, etc.
01/12/2009 at 4:11 am
gorgeous as always,
can you update your new skin regime? They’re so clear
01/12/2009 at 11:03 am
Great look!
Satin Taupe looks way nicer on you than on me… I looked I got punched in the eye when I wear it
What contacts are you wearing? They look really nice
01/12/2009 at 11:26 am
Thanks ladies =)
I’m wearing Geo Tri-Color contacts in Brown. They are just like Freshlook’s Colorblends and not circle lenses.

Hi Phyllis,
can you tell us the makeup tools and brushes that you used to achieve the look? Is it better to apply foundation with a brush or sponge or by fingers? Do we need different brushes to apply eyeshadows? Thanks.
01/12/2009 at 12:02 pm

01/12/2009 at 2:28 pm

wow!! love this look!! you look so amazing in all your FOTDs.
btw, chanel pro lumiere #10 limpide? weren’t you a MAC NC30 before?
your skin must have lightened during the colder season.

Lovely,
When it comes to eyeshadow application, unless you are just doing a wash, I highly recommend using a brush. Not only does it help to blend everything evenly, it gives you more precision.
For this FOTD, I used:
* MAC #239 Eye Shading Brush to apply the Gingersoft eyeshadow
* MAC #219 Pencil Brush to apply the Satin Taupe eyeshadow onto the crease and blended it with MAC #217 Blending Brush
* Small eyeshadow brush by Sonia Kashuk to apply the Violet pigment under the eye
You can check out the following entries on reviews of some of my eye makeup brushes:

As for foundation and concealer, I use both a brush and my fingers. Please refer to this entry for more details:

Bec,
Yes I use #10 Limpide for the Pro Lumiere. I’m normally a #20 Clair for Chanel foundations but the Pro Lumiere runs slightly darker.

Thank you so much Phyllis! You answered exactly what I wanted to know
01/14/2009 at 9:19 pm

01/22/2009 at 7:42 pm
u look stunning. i am trying this look tomorrow night
do you think i should wet the purple eyeshadow before applying it?
01/23/2009 at 11:14 am
Yes Tina, you should definitely apply the pigment wet so the color stays vibrant.
01/27/2009 at 5:46 pm
