Monthly Archives: September 2008

I swear I have been to Covent Garden a million times but it was not until my recent trip back to London that I discovered this hidden gem, B.

B, which is short for B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful, is a sister company to Lush. It started back in 2003 and prides itself in its vegan, cruelty-free beauty products. What makes B stand out from other brands is definitely their Indian and Moroccan inspired bohemian packaging along with the layout of the store. Walking into that store literally felt like walking into an Aladdin cave – I was mesmerized! They also carry a wide variety of products including makeup, fragrances, skincare, shower and bath products. Prices range from £4 for a bath cube to £50 for a 45g perfume.

Thanks to the drier fall weather, 8-hour plane rides and my hectic schedule, my dehydrated combination skin has been acting up more than ever! Not only did it get super dry and dull, I also developed a small flaky patch close to the jawline on the left side of my face – gross I know! Lucky the folks at Vichy came to my rescue and sent me two awesome products from their Aqualia Thermal line.

The Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week has officially ended last Friday and below are some of the trends spotted on the runway.

Trend 1: Nude Look
Yes the nude look is big again at the Spring 2009 shows. Models at the Marc by Marc Jacobs and MaxAzria shows were spotted with natural-looking skin, minimal eye makeup and barely there lips.

As promised, below are a few trends I spotted on the high street during my short stay in the oh-so-fashionable London town.

Trend #1: Plaid
From shirts, dresses, shoes, scarfs to bags, plaid or check (as the English would call it) is everywhere.

Sienna Miller, Vanessa Hudgens and Lauren Conrad in plaid
