Viktor & Rolf for Shu Uemura Makeup Collection

July 16, 2008

Designers Viktor & Rolf have collaborated with Shu Uemura‘s International Artistic Director Kakuyasu Uchiide to create three outrageously beautiful, limited edition sets of false lashes for Shu Uemura’s Tokyo Lash Bar.

The haute couture lashes were based off Viktor & Rolf’s Spring/Summer 2008 collection and inspired by famous mime artist Marcel Marceau. They are available online at Colette for a whooping 95 Euros (~$150) or £50 (~$100) at Harvey Nichols and Shu Uemura boutiques in England.

My personal favorite is Rhombus – the gold harlequin diamonds look so hot!!! What do you guys think?

The first time I read the entry I thought it was titled: “Viktor and ROLF for Shu Uemura” Instead of reading Rolf I thought you meant Viktor and rolling on the floor laughing for Shu Uemura. LOL.

Hmmm, the more drama the better these days in the beauty industry–goth, punk, theatrical makeup, tatoos, etc, etc. I think that these stuffs are very hard to pull off as you gotta be so well put together from the top to toe; otherwise, you’d just look cheap after spending so much money.

I saw them at Shu Uemura stores… I kinda want them but at $500HKD a pair, I can buy so many Ardell and actually wear them 😛

I love love love eyelashes. They are such a pain to put on but the results are worth it all.

Wow…I think i’d rather have my stumpy lashes.

Yah seems like something you would want but would never use, I’d like to see a less dramatic version for more pratical wear.

when i saw these,i must say they were abit too dramatic for me,but i do love love love shu uemura lashes these days and their architect foundation,it just works like a dream!!!

Shu Uemura eyelashes are great.. I LOVE them .. but these are too dramatic.. I cannot think of an occasion when i can wear these 😛

These are absolutely cool and funky to look at. I almost want to buy them just for how pretty they are! But like others have noted, it would be very hard to pull these off, I think. It’s too far out there for little me to try out…maybe if I lived in Japan, they are much more open to creative and bold makeup and style =D

Umm these are different but would be great for a masquerade!

These lashes are so great! But I personally wouldn’t spend that much for false lashes, I mean how many chances would u get to wear them? (what do u mean constructive comment ?)

lol it takes me half the day and several attempts before making normal ardell falsies look and sit decently on my eyes. These would take forever!!
