MAC Autumn/Winter 2008 Trend Report: Makeup Looks

June 20, 2008

This fall, the seventies are back! According to Gordon Espinet and Tom Pecheux, “Seventies clubby” and “Glam rock fantasies” will be the main theme for the eyes. This means lots and lots of rich metallics on the eyelid. Look at celebrity icons like Cher and Diana Ross for ideas on eyeshadows. Eyebrows will be boyish and lashes mascara-less to soften up the look. Skin will be on the light side yet structured. Lips should be matte and drenched in wine shades.

My favorites are the eyes from Seventease and the lips from De-vine. How about you ladies?

I agree but I guess that’s MAC for you =)

I ended up ordering a TON of OPI nail polishes from that site. I’ll do an entry on them later this week.

Yeah cool looks, but what is with the eyebrows that need plucking? Ha, I don’t like that.

    Hi Phyllis,

I’m a big fan of your blog and look to your entries for tips on Asian make-up. I was going through your archives trying to find an entry on a list of your HG products, but there was none. Do you mind posting your HG products from cleansers to foundations to mascaras? I’m very interested to know which makeup you consider to be your personal “blue chip”.

Thank you so much and looking forward to more!

Hi, Phyllis! I stumbled onto your site from blogged.com and have to say I’m really enjoying your work, especially the updates on the “biz” and your coverage of Japanese products! I live in Japan and my Japanese is not so great so I’ve been dying to find English reviews on things but haven’t had much luck. Thank you for your lovely reviews, especially your reviews of BB cream!!!! I had been wondering what they were for and thanks to your reviews and review links, I finally bought some of my own (Elisha Coy) and so far am really liking it. Keep up the good work!

HHMMMMMM…I miss MAC. I was at one stage South Africa’s senior artist and it was the greatest time, even though it lasted only for a short while. Wish I could do that look on someone NOWWWW!!!
