After ERA’s Face Spray Foundation and Dior’s Airflash, MAC has finally come out with its own version of spray makeup. This foundation comes in a sleek portable aerosol can which is great for traveling. What is weird about this product, however, is that it is not meant to be sprayed directly onto your face – you are supposed to “spray onto hand or palette, then apply with a brush”. Having said that, I think this whole idea of putting a foundation into an aerosol can is kind of redundant. Despite that, the foundation itself is not bad. When I first sprayed it onto the back of my hand, I thought it was kind of runny but it glides on easily and blends like heaven. The coverage is sheer and it imparts a dewy finish. MAC also claims that the foundation is suitable for all skin types.

Here are the colors available:
Light – Ivory
Light Medium – Warm Beige
Medium – Golden Beige
Medium Dark – Deep Golden Beige
Dark – Deep Golden Tan
Deep Dark – Deep Chocolate Brown

I am a NC30 and Light Medium is the right shade for me.

Similar to the Studio Mist foundation, this comes in an aerosol can and is meant to be sprayed onto your hands/palette and applied with a brush/fingers. All three colors are limited edition. Misty Pink is a plum brown, Peach Spritz is a soft coral and Mystical Bronze is a coppery bronze. All these colors are pretty and I can see them working for most skintones. I personally would not get these, however, because it is just too much work for a blush *lol*

hi phyllis, i’m thinking of getting a studio mist foundation. i’m an NC20 with combination skin. in your opinion is this the best light to medium coverage foundation around? (perhaps shu or bobbi brown would have better ones) thanks! :)

IMHO, MAC does not make the best foundations – Laura Mercier does. The studio mist foundation is nice and gives a dewy finish but the coverage tend to be really sheer. If you are looking for something with a medium coverage, try other brands

Beware that if you try to order studio mist in the light medium it may not be availabe anywhere online. And on the Mac website it says it is coming soon. The rep on the phone said it could be up to 2 weeks. Not a happy camper at the moment and stores are hours away from me.
