Makeup Tutorial: How To Fill In Your Eyebrows

March 28, 2006

Below is a step-by-step tutorial on how to fill in your eyebrows as promised. Enjoy!

Before you start, figure out where your eyebrows should start and end. To do this, place a pencil vertically on the side of your nose up to the brow. The point right above the edge of your inner eye is where your brows should start. The arch should be at the outermost globe of your eyeball and your brow should end at the outer edge of the eye. You can find the end point by placing the pencil from the side of your nose to the outer edge of the eye.

What You Will Need

* Spoolie
* Eyebrow powder
* Eyebrow pencil
* Angled brush
* Clear brow gel or wax

Step 1. Start off by brushing your eyebrow upwards with a spoolie. Trim off excess hair with a small scissors if necessary.

Step 2. Using an angeled brush like MAC #226 Small Angle Brush, apply an eyebrow powder or eyeshadow that matches with your hair color. Start from the inner corner and work towards the arch. Go back and forth to soften the look and make sure the powder is well-blended.

Step 3. To fill in the end, turn the brush around and drag it down . If your eyebrows are too sparse, use a pencil instead.

Step 4. Dab a small amount of clear brow gel or wax (I love MAC Brow Finisher in Clear) over your eyebrows to seal in the color and shape.

Step 5. Finish by brushing a highlighting color right underneath the browbone.

Voila! Perfect eyebrows!

    Pretty eyes!!

    Do you think it looks weird to use an eyebrow pencil that’s a dark grey with a medium brown eyebrow powder?

      well it would be best if you could match your eyebrow pencil with your eyebrow powder… but if that’s not an option for you, just make sure you blend the two together so it doesn’t look brown in the front then grey in the end.

    Before I ask my question, I want to say your blog is awesome! and I want to say thank you for all the tips and tutorials! so my question is, is bleaching eyebrows with facial bleach a good idea?

      I just use my Sephora Long Handle Sable Eyeliner Brush. The bristles are long and thin and perfect for creating the cat eye. Below is a picture of it:
