I have been getting quite a number of messages from people asking me what hair dye I use so here are a couple of reviews:

Zorpia Photo Sharing: Free Unlimited Storage & BandwidthClairol Hydrience Hair Color ($7)
I got this in Ruby Twilight, a dark burgundy. The color barely showed up (you can only see it under the sun) and it made my hair a little dry. So despite how pretty it looked on the box, I don’t think I would buy this again.

Zorpia Photo Sharing: Free Unlimited Storage & BandwidthL’oreal Preference Shine Extending Hair Color ($8)
I bought this in Medium Brown hoping to cover up my roots (I have bleached medium brown hair at the time). At first, it made my hair a lot darker, almost like a light black. But after a week, the color somehow faded to a dark brown. Unlike other hair dye, it also made my hair very smooth and soft. I will definitely repurchase this.

Zorpia Photo Sharing: Free Unlimited Storage & BandwidthRevlon Frost & Glow Highlighting Kit ($7)
Do not let the cheesy packaging fool you, this is probably the best highlighting kit out there. I used it on my medium brown hair and I actually got caramel blonde highlights that is oh-so-pretty. The kit also comes with a cap and a plastic needle. They were a little difficult to use but once I got the hang of it, it was not that bad. Plus the color turned out beautifully with no brassiness. Highly recommended!

Zorpia Photo Sharing: Free Unlimited Storage & BandwidthRevlon Colorsilk Hair Color ($3)
I have this in Medium Ash Brown. I have used this twice and the color turned out pretty good both times. My hair experienced some dryness but after I did some deep conditioning, it was not a big problem. Plus at $3 a box, you really cannot beat the price.

hey was just wondering do you lighten ur hair first? if you do what do you use? as i have pitch black hair and many hairdressers look at me with disgust that i want to dye my hair however wen i go to hong kong there happy to do it altho i live in the uk and therefore dnt have the freedom to just fly over and get my ahir done all the time.

Right now I have medium brown hair. I did light blonde highlights and now I really want pitch black hair. I really don’t know which to use because I have asthma and I need a dye that doesnt leave my hair dry or crumpled.

revlon IS the best highlighter! even my hair dresser hasen’t been able to get my highlights so close to the root…. the trick when taking the cap of is to mix with the little shampoo it comes with and the cap comes right off!

i have actually used loreal superior peference before. the color didn’t show for the first few days, but it have brightened up after a week or so. overall, i really liked it. i was satisfied with my hair color. i also purchased revlon’s hair dye. i haven’t used it before, but will be in the next several days or so. after hearing your comments about it, i am really looking forward to giving it a try =)

Originally I have dark brown hair. Underneath it is a mess because I’ve screwed up so many times at beauty salons. It’s hard to explain but if I started bleaching it out… My hair would be dark brown at the top..Red below it.. Yellow underneat that.. black again.. and orange ALL in one streak. So I just coated everything black cause I have no choice.. I really wanna go light though.. Any advise?
